Danger Zone
I don’t exactly remember when I first saw the words “Danger Zone.” I think perhaps it was a very pronounced sign in orange, with flashing lights, in a hazardous stretch of road in my distant memory. I also recall the word “Caution” being attached to it, and over the years, the two words seem to always be connected. Together they constitute one thing only… a solemn “Warning”. The wise take heed, but the distracted place themselves in jeopardy of their life and the lives of others.
I truly believe that at this time, in both the history of mankind and in the history of true Christianity, we are in the most pronounced “Danger Zone” of all time. Never have the warnings been more clear, and yet never have the distractions been more numerous, to keep us from seeing clearly that we are nearing the return of Christ, the end of all things, and the reality of the impending worldwide “Tribulation.”
And I suppose this “Danger Zone” was to suddenly appear as it has, for Jesus said in Luke 21:35, “For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.” A snare is sprung and catches its prey before the prey is even aware it is there. And yet, for God’s children, Jesus says in verse 34 of that same chapter, “Take heed to yourselves…..so that day doesn’t come upon you unawares.”
Jesus in Matthew 24, Luke 21, Mark 13, all renderings of His last day warning given on the Mt. of Olives, prophesied of things happening in the earth at the time of His return…international wars, food shortages that spawn famines, pestilences (worldwide disease pandemics), earthquakes in many diverse places and He says solemnly, “all of these are the beginning of sorrows.” Matthew 24:8. And then there is the marked and increased depraved nature of man manifested. Listen to Jesus, “Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold.” Matthew 24:12 (NLT)
Paul told Timothy that in the last days, “Perilous times” would occur, and the litany of things he described in II Timothy3:1-5 is a mirror image of things right now s they are. Christians are now despised and hated in so many places of the world, and again Jesus said, “You will be hated all over the world because you are my followers.” Matthew 24:9(NLT)
…..Do you doubt this? Just go public against the evil of abortion, or express your views openly from a Biblical perspective concerning homosexuality, or the transgender lifestyle, even with godly love and concern, and you’ll see a frenzied backlash of hate and fury that will stun you in its intensity. The recent leaked Supreme Court document on Roe Vs. Wade and the ensuing froth-filled, angry, and violent protests are but hints of things to come.
A storm is coming! We are in the….“Danger Zone.”
How should we then live? I am going to make this very simple with three principles. We must, at all cost, do these three things:
Have a personal “Revival of the Bible.” Get back into your daily Bible reading. Read the Word, memorize the Word (hide it in your heart), and then meditate on what you have read. It is your shield of faith. Without you are vulnerable.
Pray fervently. Pray fervently. Pray fervently. Pray fervently. Pray fervently. Pray fervently. Pray fervently. Love those you love with a real, genuine, prayer-inspired, I Corinthians 13 love. Love as you wish to be loved, whether you receive it back or not. You will warm your own heart by giving that kind of love.
“For yet a little while, And He that shall come, will come, and will not tarry.” Hebrews 10:37.
