Do you believe in the ancient doctrine of the millennial reign of Christ?
Do you believe in the ancient doctrine of the millennial reign of Christ?
Yes. Christ will reign on the earth for 1,000 years. Lots of old testament prophecies will finally come to pass, like reinstating the temple sacrifices, David will rule over Jerusalem, Jesus will rule over the world. So my end times doctrine is pre-mill.
Yep.
That is as premillennial as one can get.
not because of him, but because Scripture teaches it.
Did Justin Martyr believe in that ancient doctrine of soul sleep!? And that to believe anything else was to blaspheme God!?
Yes, it is in the word of God.
2 Co 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. I am a historic premillennialist. I believe in a millenial reign of Jesus but do not subscribe to dispensationalism or a “pre-trib rapture” I consider “soul sleep” a heresy
I am a pre trib, dispensational premillenialist..
rapture
tribulation period
second coming
millenium
great white throne judgement
new creation
I really don’t know. Just want to rejoice in the redemption that I have in Christ Jesus and live praising Him and enjoy the beauty of this world and check out bearing the hope of embracing His eternal glory. What comes next I don’t know
This is in revelation – HOWEVER, it says he reigns for 1,000 years on Earth with those who were beheaded for him. This isn’t him reigning with every one of his followers. Then Satan is released one last time to temp. Then the death of this world and universe and the birth of a new world and universe that doesn’t decay. No death. No sin. No suffering. That world is eternal where God reigns with all of his followers for eternity.
Absolutely the Lord shall reign a thousand years before finally Satan would be loosed for a season for his last fight and the end at Armageddon.
What do you think he meant by a thousand years in Jerusalem when it is built again?
As far as i know, its the Holy Spirit’s period not of Christ. He went up and sent the Holy Spirit right?
I mean, they are both God and as one but they are different persona…
You know what i mean…
If you read and believed the prophets you would know that Jerusalem is to restored and settled in peace under the reign of Messiah .
No Ireneaus?
If the bible agreed we 1000 years of Millennium rule who are we to think or even argue otherwise?
Revelation 20:1-3
[1]And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
[2]And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
[3]And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, TILL THE THOUSAND YEARS SHOULD BE FULFILLED: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
Yep, sure do.
Yes, according to His Word>>> Revelation 20:1-6″.. And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.”
Take issue with the term ancient. And according to zechariah 12 and 14 and 1cor 15 Jesus must reign until his enemies are subdued. Good luck making it fit without a 1000 yr reign
Well we shall see
Of course, the Prophets predict it. A little taste of Prophecy when Christ fights for His People, ‘Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.
4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south. Zechariah 14:3,4 KJV. Oh, there is an Earthquake fault runs right through the Mnt of Olives.
The same Justin martyr who taught all sorts of unbiblical doctrines?
“And then, when Jesus had gone to the river Jordan, where John was baptizing, and when He had stepped into the water, a fire was kindled in the Jordan
but in like manner as Jesus Christ our Saviour, having been made flesh by the Word of God, had both flesh and blood for our salvation, so likewise have we been taught that the food which is blessed by the prayer of His word, and from which our blood and flesh by transmutation are nourished
I think we should be a bit careful using the early church fathers to prove biblical truths.
I’m what you’d call a Historic Pre-mil, which means I’m also Post-trib.
I do
