Maybe you are misinterpreting though. I’ve done that and thought something seemed odd. But also we can’t lean on our own understanding. Somethings are above us.

No lol if one thing is wrong than it’s all questionable. Are some things missing possible. But I wouldn’t dwell on it. salvation is always available.

I would agree it’s fair to state that some books/verses require a deeper level of desire within us to know God’s heart, and allow the Holy Spirit to lead us into understanding of them. I’d be interested in helping explain away any doubts you might have on certain passages. 🙂 -

I think what makes it seem like at err is the misinterpretation of the context and the careless cherry picking of verses to suite one’s explanation.

Hold your interpretation loosely, trust the God of the Bible (as you work out these things) and believe he can listen and respond to your concerns. There are often times when we hold truths in tension until God reveals himself. Be patient with the process.

The Greek and Hebrew words are what’s inspired so it really does not matter English wise if it’s not inspired.

Also, Biblical Inerrancy shouldn’t be held as a First order doctrine but as a secondary doctrine more further out on your core web of beliefs.

I find the texts on slavery troublesome. Same thing with texts that are clearly misogynistic and unnecessarily gruesome on God’s end (take Leviticus and Judges for example).
And the book of revelation feels more like a scary acid trip than a play-by-play of trib/rapture/renewed heaven and earth. They’re all just kind of eye brow raisers. Maybe I just don’t have ears to hear? -

There are some who do not regard the new testament scriptures as holding the same weight as the torah. This is because not all the new testament was completed during various mentions of scripture having authority like in 2 Timothy 3:16-17. We also see things like in 1 cor7:6, where Paul’s seems to be giving a suggestion rather than a commandment. There are also numerous passages that point directly back to the Old testament torah as having true authority (acts 15,18, rom 1, 15). Even 2 Peter 3:16 seems to suggest that there’s a distinction between paul’s letters and the old testament. However, I do believe that Cessationism happened because the canon was completed. 20 [a]But understand this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of or comes from one’s own [personal or special] interpretation, 21 for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God. -
The Bible is both inerrant (without error) and infallible (incapable of error). Both are absolutely true, because God cannot lie or be in the wrong. There is not a single error anywhere in the canon of scripture (the 39 books of the OT, the 27 books of the NT).

This is something that has needlessly destroyed many a faith. The Bible is inspired, but not magic. Its writers were capable of making simple factual errors.
Matthew was particularly creative, as he always sought to nail down every event to an OT prophecy. For example, when Jesus enters Jerusalem, he quotes Zechariah about him riding on a donkey. Except… the Greek text (LXX) he knew was a bad translation of that particular verse, and said “Donkey and Colt”, so he rewrote Mark’s story to say Jesus rode on both. So our Bibles usually have the translation correct in Zechariah but wrong in Matthew!
Similarly, when Judas betrays Jesus, Matthew (27:9) gets a little confused and quotes Zechariah but attributes it to Jeremiah instead. An easy mistake that any of us might make when remembering prophesies we’re familiar with!
These things trip us up because generations of men have created their own doctrine about Matthew and other biblical texts, and we struggle to separate these men’s teachings from God’s. This is the same reason people get their faith sunk by realising the earth isn’t 6000 years old – the Bible isn’t designed to be a magic book, it’s a Holy Book. It’s not designed to get every detail inerrantly correct, it’s designed to teach us about God and lead us to Jesus. Anybody who has ever done a halfway decent Bible Study knows there is more to this book than meets the eye, and it remains perfect in many ways we can’t quite capture in words!
What rescued the whole picture for me was discovering Abraham Kuyper’s approach to inerrancy – the Bible is *exactly as the Holy Spirit intends it to be*, and we fundamentally require Him to explain it to us and bring it alive as “God’s Word”. There are minor textual issues here and there, but even these are there in order for God to speak to us, and are just simple errors from a collection of texts written by real, fallible people. Not even Matthew or Paul would have claimed their own writings to be entirely factually inerrant – isn’t it a little silly that we put that burden on them?

There are passages like part of 1 John 5:7 and Mark 16:9-20 that the majority of Bible believing scholars say were apparently added later on as they weren’t included in the earliest manuscripts we have discovered. For me, this is a big question of whether or not these parts are authentically inspired by God.

I believe the entire Bible, the 66 books we have now, are the authoritative, inerrant, Word of God.
It kind of erks me when people think parts of it should be removed, or some other books added. But I remind myself, this has been satan’s plot all along. As demonstrated in Genesis when satan as a snake tempted Eve, he twisted what God really said and created doubt.
By saying perhaps some books of the Bible should be removed is simply repeating what satan told Eve, “Was such and such book or verse really inspired by God?”
I also tell myself when someone says this, they are just ignorant and perhaps they are really trying to find out. What helps in knowing for sure if the 66 books in the Bible are inspired by God and to believe they are authoritative, inerrant, actual Word of God is having an intimate, personal relationship with God through Jesus. Without that relationship there is no faith, or reassurance of anything. It goes beyond mere academics, and makes a heart issue.

In order to answer this question we need to look at the how and the why of the construct of the bible. To a certain degree we need to accept that what we now see as the bible was inspired by God to be included into one cohesive book. The bible is a book that combines many books which each have their own chapters that was further subdivided into verses for the sake of easier reading.
The question should be asked: are these books coherently and cohesively in line with what the “author” intended it to say and/or reveal. If any part falls outside of the coherence and cohesion of the construct then surely those parts should be removed. But having been weighed, interrogated and interpreted through many centuries by supporters, sceptics and inquisitives nobody has conclusively and successfully argued which parts of the bible should be removed or falls outside of the frame of the intended purpose.

Is the Bible God inspired and God directed? Yes! What about the other translations? Not God-directed but because it was inspired by that one Bible that complements both, I can surrender to them while primarily using the oldest one as a reference point to see their mistakes.

No. The Bi let is God’s Word. It is perfect. Buy John Hagee’s Prophecy Study Bible from Amazon. In it there are hundreds of predictions on one side and there fulfillment on the other side. Go and read each one. What you will find is every Prophecy is has come to past as God predicted it would or it hasn’t come to past. But read through each prediction and it’s fulfilment until you are convinced that God is telling the truth. And remember the time span of prediction and fulfillment is sometimes thousands of years apart. For example, at the dawn of creation The Father predicted the Satan would kill Jesus but Jesus would defeat Satan. Thousands of years later–there is a 400 year time span between the Old and New Testamens alone. And guess what. Satan killed Jesus. It’s called the crucfixtion. And Jesus defeated Satan by rising from the dead. How can God do this? God knows everything and God lives in eternity not time. God can see everything at the same time. So when He predicted it He could see Satan crucifying Jesus and He could see Jesus riding from the dead which is why one of God’s names–and He had many–is I Am. Notice it is in the present tense. He is not I was or I will be. He is I Am and He can’t change. Thank God because if He changed we would be here because He is holding the the whole universe–scientists find new galaxies everyday. The original manuscripts are inspired by God. The copies, that’s different. It is the reason we read copies from CREDIBLE translators, and there are plenty.

God does not lie. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness and to thoroughly equip for every good work. The Scripture is holy and can not be made useless. Not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Scriptures until everything is accomplished. It is able to make one wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. It is the revelation of God by the Holy Spirit to the apostles and prophets. In it are some things hard to be understood, but the apostles did not write anything that cannot be read or understood by any believer. All should learn by the apostles’ example not to go above what is written in Scripture. Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God. A person makes a mistake not knowing the Scripture. He must be a doer of the word and not just a hearer.

The words in the Bible were perfect when they were first spoken or written by inspired men. After centuries of translation some truths were lost.

I find the books of Judith, and Susana of Apocrypha, very erotic, how Holoferns thinks that to let Judith go without… her, she would think Holofern is sissy. This provokes lust. I’m afraid to read Apocrypha. Also Susana, two elders said come lay with us, for we can’t control our lust… You see the quotes proves lust and I believe the Holy Spirit will never inspire to quote such quotes, so these are not inspired 100% sure. Dinah was raped, Tamar was raped, David slept but these I find okay because the focus is on their sin and the ouctomes.
