During our shelter in place time we can learn a lot from Paul of the Bible. He did not have 4G, 5K, cable, unlimited talk, text, data, Grubhub, DoorDash, Amazon Prime, or the many other luxuries we enjoy sheltered in place. He was sheltered in place in one of Nero’s dimly lit, smelly dungeons in Rome when he wrote, “Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
What has happened to us? Is there any adventure in Christ or are we all just scared?
