Excellent. I was just discussing Eastern Orthodoxy with my son. Just so you know, although I am evangelical/Pentecostal I admire the EOC.

The EOC claims to be the one true church in that it has preserved Apostolic truth unchanged for 2,000 years. My query is in relation to the veneration of Mary. I am a student of church history and it does not seem that the cult of the Virgin Mary originated either in the Apostolic Church or in the earliest post-Apostolic Church but was only taught from the 3rd century onwards. Am I wrong? This is a fundamental issue for me.

I see where you have made comments about Tradition being part of the rule of faith in the church.

Most liturgical parts of the OC is either a Trisagion or a Kyrie Eleison (Lord, have mercy). To put it openly, it starts with “Lord, have mercy”, proceeds in between with “Lord, have mercy” and ends with “Lord, have mercy”. What’s the significant of this chant and why is it repetitious in the OC compared to any other churches?
