  1. Charles Page says:

the finished work of Calvary people don’t believe there are any more sacrifices for sin so they place this verse in a dispy setting and not for us today.

I believe it a verse for us today! applicable

  2. Charles Page says:

What do you get when you blend “finished work” with Wesleyan ism?

  3. Dan England says:

My only argument is that too many preachers use this verse as a blunt sword because they were not called to preach.

  4. Charles Page says:

you’re not going to cut anyone with a blunt sword only bruise them severely.

  5. What truth does this verse convey to us?

  6. Charles Page says:

for me it means a child of God can reach a point in which there is no forgiveness I John 5:16

  7. Timothy Nail says:

To me it is eradicates the idea of unconditional eternal security as it is taught by most preachers.

  8. Brody Pope says:

To me it shows one cannot live in open blatant sin and still be saved. And it disproves unconditional eternal security

  9. Sacrifice has to do with Covenant. In the 1st covenant, God obligated himself to restrain judgement on us from year to year in response to our sacrificial payment. In the New Covenant, God obligated forgiveness FROM our sins ONLY ONE time in response to Christ’s one time eternal sacrifice. After we have been forgiven, God IS NOT OBLIGATED to forgive future sins, BUT does forgive and restore because of His Grace and Mercy. No more sacrifice…no more obligation. Be blessed!
