From time to time I have mentioned that I listen to a lot of COG sermons over the internet, they are there on ustream, youtube and on the church’s website. Here are five subjects that I have not yet heard brought up and or preached on in any meaningful way.
1. Nothing on drugs, either legal or illegal. Since the trillions spent on these two items divert money away from the church and often cripple it’s members you would think it would be a frequent subject. 2. Nothing about excessive riches or extreme poverty and yet the bible deals with both. 3. Violence in the movies and on T V, need we say more? Think of how it’s contributed to immorality in our time. 4. Juvenile delinquency, oh how we need meaningful sermons and discussions for our families so that they can build strong homes. 5. The widespread boredom that is all around us; how can we organize this boredom into constructive activity?

There is nothing great about me except JESUS please pray for us in the upstate region of New York many are crying out to the lord we would appreciate all your prayers I have never been more sure than I know that I know that I know that I know what the Lord told me look at the propheseys the lord has given us s d give all the praise and glory and all the honor to to our lord for he alone is worthy to receive all the praise I wish there were a way to lift my voice like a trumpet to shake all of America news flash news flash news flash the glory and the power and the presence of God is about to roll accepts this nation the manifestation the visitation of of his presence will be in like any thing ever ever ever ever ever seen by man kind I have given many many prophetic words thru my ministry and I cannot be more sure I know what God spoke to me let the church get on its face and let us groan and le t us yearn and let us travail like we have never done before for behold the end of all things is at hand please pray for us we would so appreciate all of your prayers God bless you

Yep. When I was a student at Lee in the 1970’s Cleveland, TN or Bradley County had the highest rates of poverty and juvenile crime in the state of Tennessee in spite of the large number of churches in the area. I never heard sermons related to any of the problem areas but many church leaders and pastors became wealthy through Amway and other ventures.

Paul seemed rather positive about the idea of all going to church and prophesying, including telling the secrets of an individual’s heart through prophesying. Prophesying can fortell things like a famine. One man in the Bible knew where another man’s father’s lost donkey’s were through revelation.

I’m always speaking against drugs because the affect it has had on my life. I also am passionate for helping homeless people because I have seen cold winter nights with no home.
Bottom line, people are afraid of the Church because the Church of today places emphasis on scorecards and counts converts rather than taking genuine interest in the issue in front of them. Jesus fed the 5,000 because they were hungry, nit to prove anything. He knew who heard and didn’t.
You have to be able to identify people and deliver messages correctly or the lines become crossed and then it appears the Church is a big mind game. A Pastor is an assistant to the one who tends the pasture. The most sensitive topics require giving genuine interest. This means sometimes leaving the 99 for the 1. Drug addicts don’t want everyone to know their business, it brings them shame. They will avoid you if you become a campaign against it. The Word of God is the only answer and not many individuals are qualified to administer such attention because they are speaking aimlessly without regard to who they aim their planned out lesson plan that is prepared in advance rather than genuine interest in Holy inspiration.

How many preachers preach on ‘he that puts away his wife commits adultery, and he that marries her that is put away commits adultery’? Some of you would probably say you’ve heard a sermon on that recently. But it’s controversial, so some preachers avoid it.
How many of you have heard anything from the pulpit on church discipline and not keeping company with those who don’t repent? That’s in the Bible, too.
There are lots of things that should be addressed that aren’t addressed much in some churches. If a church doesn’t have any drug users should the topic be addressed often? What if there aren’t any youth int he church? Should juvenile deliquency frequently be addressed?

Read the story of Richard Roberts in Wikipedia today and yes he has had some failures ( marriage, drinking ) but overall he has done a world of good. Sometimes we have to accept the bad with the good and let the Lord do the judging.
