“A wise son or daughter makes a glad father, but a foolish son or daughter is a sorrow to their mother.”

―Proverbs 10:1

My dear virtually perfect grands,

Make this one of your key “life verses” that you use to guide your decisions.

Of course the ultimate one you want to please is God.  But sometimes God is so beyond our ability to understand that things can get a little blurry when it comes to making decisions.

But your mom and dad, they were given to you by God to help you understand Him better.  Of course your parents are not perfect and must not be the last word on anything (only God is the last word).

However, keeping that in mind, it is good to remember that no one on earth loves you like your parents.  No one is looking out for your best interest like they do.  Again, they will not do this perfectly, but a good place to start when making decisions is to ask yourself, “How will this impact my parents.”  Answer that question correctly and chances are you’re heading in the right direction.

Bottom line, make it your goal in life to be a child who makes your parents glad and who does not bring sorrow into their lives.

If you do that, it’s a good bet that you are making a wise decision and that, in turn, makes God glad and sets you up for success.

Love always, Papa
