Historical Society of Church of God Movements

Our special guest speaker this year is Dr. Michael Padgett from Middlesboro, Kentucky, with the Church of God Mountain Assembly. He will be presenting from his new book, A Bow Tied, an examination of the development of ecclesiastical polity in the Church of God Mountain Assembly during its first 100 years and how the first generation of CGMA leaders attempted to replicate and incorporate aspects of the Church of God’s government while it concurrently contended with inclinations toward its inherent congregationalism.
