How do atheist explain evil?

There is no evil in a material naturalistic world, everything is subjective.

They call everyone else evil but themselves. They have no objective standard of morality. They know God exists according to Rimans 2 and 3 that they have no excuse. They deny God because they love their sin.

I am an atheist. This may well be a problem with definition of “evil”. Good and bad things happen from the point of view of humans, if it is really bad and by a person I would call that evil.
In philosophy of religion The Problem of Evil is really about suffering, so the definition is even wider there.
Do ask more, as I have only talked about definitions so far.

Some would say evolution. Theough the history if human interaction little by little we learn what bad is usually something that doesnt help mankind or yourself. Another would be subjective accoridng to each person guided by their own experience affected by their environment. Some atheists even say. Evil doesnt exist since there is nothing to compare it to. The rest are just variations of these i assume. But evil is simply man disobeying God.

Anything is permissable when there is no God. So to them there is no evil, only survival of the fittest

They have to say evil is subjective and deny that certain evils are most definitely not subjective. All of humanity can agree that murdering innocent people is evil. That lies and deceit are evil. That if someone committed certain evil acts against them, they would be offended and crushed. If someone coldblooded kills their family, I wonder if they they would say evil is subjective.

I think they all acknowledge God’s superiority and all God’s character. They just have problems understanding all of them or they dont believe one can have all character and attributes.
Like God is love and at the same time God is just. ??♂️ -
If they are being truly rational to their beliefs, they cannot. There is no such thing as good and evil, no such thing as morality. Its all subjective.

If you subscribe to Aethism therefore evolution,there is NO good and evil. We are just evolved animals. No one says when a monkey steals fruit, sharks eat fish, lions kill antelope for food, or wolves kill other wolves for pac dominance as evil or wrong. We call it nature. To any Arthiest can’t have a moral objection to anything, morals are just made up words on paper.

I believe that society definitely plays a huge part as to defining evil or not evil.
This can be seen just by looking at different cultures.
Religion definitely plays another roll in it too. Look at the cultural differences between America and Asian cultures for example… or Middle Eastern cultures.
But it’s not just religion that plays into it either.
As an example: in early American culture slavery and racism was considered normal socially acceptable behavior even in super religious communities… as was the persecution of “witches” even though objectively now we can say that these practices are today considered “evil” in hindsight.
Again, to reiterate: it’s not just a matter of Christianity vs Athiest morals since clearly the Christian view of evil vs good has been subject to these societal changes as well.

We humans are not perfect in justifying what is good and evil. Why trusting ourselves to be the standard in moral reasoning? Even with those who look like a good person is not 100% good. It will only fail us if we entrust our standard only for a person. This is the call for the absolute standard must be higher than our intellectual than our reasoning or even our feelings. And this absolute standard must be authored only by an absolute. Because if there’s no absolute author there will be no absolute standard. If there’s no absolute standard we cannot define what’s good or evil.
