How to answer one who argues that Saturday to be observed as Sabbath?
His point is that we have no right to change God’s command; Covenant is changed but command is not changed.

Read Paul wbere be discusses the relationship of old testament and to new testament believers. Hebrews dooes the same thing.

Just explain that Christ was risen on the Sunday (as accepted by the SDA church) and that’s why Christians began to worship on the Sunday.
Also the Sabbath is not actually taught in the NT even though Jesus nailed the ten commandments down.
It was the first argument that convinced me but I find the second compelling also. -
I wouldn’t worry about it for Christians every day is the Sabbath because Jesus is the Sabbath and Him and I are tight

Worshipping on the Sabbath was given as part of the Creation ordinance-
(Genesis 2:2 “And on the seventh day God finished his work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work that he had done.
3 So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation.”) It is repeated in the 10 Commandments, given to the Nation of Israel, as a Theocracy. It was to be celebrated as God’s greatest Miracle Until…A Greater Miracle occurred. The Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ!
Now, that Jesus has brought the Greatest of all miracles to us, ie., Salvation! It is to take the place of the lesser miracle of creation. It was so great, we don’t even see any discussion about changing it in the NT.
The day of Worship ceased being a Sabbath day (Saturday) to being a day of celebration of the risen Christ. Thus, The Lord’s Day (Sunday).
The NT writers begin to teach that as Christians, we are to worship on the first day of the week (John 20:1, 19; Acts 20:7; 1 Corinthians 16:2, etc.)

The Sabbath remains the Sabbath today just as it has for thousands of years. Today it is the Jewish day of rest; also as it has been.
Jesus and the Apostles observed that day. Paul’s words tell how he went into the synagogues. As much as a day of rest, it was a day for gathering in worship, and studying Scripture.
But I think for the followers of Jesus it was also a day of work. Not work in a physical sense, but they were to spread the Good News/Gospel. The New Testament tells how Christians would then gather the first day after for remembrance and worship of Jesus.

Where in scriptures does it say that the early Church worship on the first day of the week? THE4th commandment does not say anything about a day of worship.The 4th Commandment is found in Exodus 20: 10,11.Please just read these verses of scripture.

I would encourage you to study how the observance of rest and worship was moved from Sabbath to Sunday. It was an act from the Roman Catholic Church. It’s funny to me how alot it Christians want to push this historical fact aside but the Catholic Church doesn’t. Atleast they are honest with how Sunday observance came about…. Christians keep the entire law in the spirit not the letter. Because there is no mandate in the entire NT regarding Sabbath in the letter, and only one command regarding rest, to rest in Jesus, therefore the NT Sabbath is a spiritual Sabbath not a letter Sabbath, to be kept by resting in Jesus, and those who ADD the letter of the physical Sabbath to the NT are sinning, by creating a command that neither Jesus nor the Apostles mandated. Then he/she disagrees with Paul, because Paul nor the early Church expected Gentile Christians to keep the Sabbath. Paul also said not to judge anyone if they kept or did not keep Jewish holy days. Finally, some say a Sabbath existed before the Law, but we can definitely say it was a commandment included in the Law. Now Paul said you can’t just keep part of the Law, you have to keep ALL of it. As Christians if we believe in Christ as the sacrifice for our sins there is no way we are going to Jerusalem to sacrifice crops or animals! So we already can’t keep the Law! However, righteousness or morality existed before the Law, was included in the Law, and can exist outside the Law.

Hebrews 4 and Matthew 5:16-20
Matthew 5:17–18 (NASB95): 18 “For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished.
If we now change the law wouldn’t that mean that heaven and earth has pasted away? Not one stroke… Not even the smallest item would be changed.
Matthew 5:18–19 (NASB95): 19 “Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
The word annul is fascinating… It means to undo an obligation…
How can these verses be reconciled in context?
Also, God commandments are still seen as an import at characteristic of God’s people even in the end times in revelation.
Revelation 12:16–17 (NASB95): 17 So the dragon was enraged with the woman, and went off to make war with the rest of her children, who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus.
Revelation 14:12 (NASB95): Here is the perseverance of the saints who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus.

So should we still perform animal sacrifices ? Because that was changed also. Romans 10:4 Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes. Jesus resurrected on Sunday. The holy spirit descended on Sunday lots of the events that Christ experienced were on Sunday. The truly sabaath day is JesusChrist our Savior.

God labored for six days and on the seventh day He rested. This is the day we set aside as our Sabbath. A day made for man (we are not made for it). It’s purpose is to provide a day for physical and spiritual rest. For focusing on family and on God. Not to say that God shouldn’t be first in our hearts always… Anyway, the day if the week doesn’t matter. The principle of the observance is what is important. Take a day and dedicate it to rest and reflection on the Lord with your family and with your church and put the worries of the week aside. We chose a single day of the week to do this I think so we could better coordinate things with each other so we knew when we could count on places of business being open and when to expect our family and friends to be gathering together to honor the Sabbath. The day doesn’t matter. Pick one that works best for you and have at it. But make sure that whichever day you do choose, that you observe it as a true Sabbath. A day of rest before our God.

THE SABBATH, ANY RELEVANCE TODAY?
Permit me to attempt to answer this question to which one is pleased, and another ensnared.
Issues of faith, brethren are not to be so neglected and or treated with such contempt and intolerance as our earlier comments have almost revealed.
Thankfully this is a platform for trite learning ,and in the interest of apologetics we must try to treat other with gentleness and respect, as we edge into achieving the goal of helping the believer to think, and the thinker believe.The book of creation, as the bible has it, begins with the origins of all:things. Genesis lays a fundamental corner stone to our faith as we in today will:agree that the pantheistic world views and evolutionist are baffled and still amazed when:they get the chance to learn of all the volumes of information in that first book:of the bible.
WHAT IS A DAY
A day according:to the book of Genesis is a span:or period that starts from Night time:to:day light. Hence it will be proper to consider a day as a period spanning: night hours first then day time:hours. This precedence was set because God had created two great lights the sun and moon and God In his wisdom chose to use them as the cardinal Points to express what a day is.
Now without Night and Day:we can’t have a day. Without a day we can’t have a week and without a week all:others can’t be hinged.Christians believe in the story of creation as 6 literal days that God used. By which the 7th day with all its special features completed the creation narrative. Hence the 7th day completes the cycle of a:week which in essence:must contain 7 days , and each day must have equal periods of night and Day.
Until:we reduced a day into 24hrs, signifying 12hrs of night time and 12hrs of day:light I doubt every other civilization before ours didn’t have a challenge to know and accept when was nightand when was day. Well:I’d save that for another time.
The SABBATH, or the seventh day is surely a period of time, from sunset to sunrise,:hence since we all:have calendars that has names of the week to it and are bound by holidays, like Christmas, Easter, Independence day, etc , even birthdays, it’s only a matter of principle that we focus more on:the cusp:of the:matter than to delve into rhetorics.
We all believe and know:that in God’s ten commandments lays an outlined message on what had to b done on the 7th day which was the Sabbath day. When Jesus died on good Friday we know that the bible:didn’t fail:to mention also:that the following day was the Sabbath day, and preparation for the Holy day, by which the women decided to avoid going to embalm his body , chose to go there on:the third day, Sunday and found the savior risen.
By this there’s no contesting which time period:or span houses the Sabbath.Now about worship. If God choses a day for himself that he be acknowledged and by that we must worship:him in:honor to hos name and I know I’m But required:to obey Him whose service I must obey,:there’s no arguing as to choosing for yourself your own day to worship God. The law governing the Sabbath is so strong in wording that,not only:does it talk:of rest from:work, but a recognition:of: God’s sovereign power, as creator is also reviewed therein.
Jesus Christ whilst on:earth observed the Sabbath by teaching in the synagogue as was the custom and by the law.
He couldn’t have broken the Sabbath because it’s his law, and as God he can’t be under the law, except to say, he was so human he’s lost his right in the Godhead, and couldn’t exercise his authority anymore. But Jesus was fully man, and fully God, In form, and in deed. If he was less man, then the sacrifice was a scam n unworthy, if he was More God, then he couldn’t have died.The Sabbath has come under a lot of scrutiny and bible students have had to take their jabs at it.
Well it Will interest us to know that most of the bible quote ssupplied to debunk the relevance of the Sabbath rather supports it.
I will in all humility ask the holy spirit to guide us unto all truth especially in our era of mass marketered spirituality, when we so desire the things of the spirit but denies the power thereof.The relevance of the Sabbath is equally valid as the laws that gives us liberty and protects our rights today. For without the law, there’s no sin, and if no sin no Grace and if no Grace no redemption unto salvation.

Of course he/she is right coz Saturday is the Sabbath. So, my dear friends remember Sunday is not the Sabbath day but we are not wrong in observing Sunday coz we are in different dispensation from that of the law dispensation and God’s dealing with mankind differs in certain areas in each dispensation.
