How was the serpent moving or what was it doing before God said:
“On your belly will you go, and dust will you eat all the days of your life.” Genesis‬ ‭3:14‬ ‭TLV‬‬

“ADONAI Elohim said to the serpent, “Because you did this, Cursed are you above all the livestock and above every animal of the field. On your belly will you go, and dust will you eat all the days of your life.” Genesis‬ ‭3:14‬ ‭TLV‬‬

Any thoughts? I just want to see what others think about this ?

ALSO, here are other references on the serpent. ??

“The wolf and the lamb will feed together. The lion will eat straw like the ox, but dust will be the serpent’s food. They will not hurt or destroy in all My holy mountain,” says ADONAI.” Isaiah‬ ‭65:25‬ TLV‬‬

“They will lick dust like a snake. Like crawling things of the land, they will come trembling out of their hiding places. To ADONAI Eloheinu they will submit in awe—in awe of You.”
‭‭Micah‬ ‭7:17‬ ‭TLV‬‬

What’s to think? It’s just history.

Read Revelation 12:9 to see identity of the serpent in Genesis 3:1.
It is possible the devil possessed or adopted the form of a physical serpent to tempt Eve.
In Genesis 3:14-15, the speech by God was directed at the physical snake at the beginning of verse 14 until ending at “every beast of the field”, and directed at the devil from verse 14, starting at “and you shall eat dust” to end of verse 15.

Serpents were often used in idol worship by pagans. They made amy statues or drawings of them places like Egypt, Babylon, Rome worshiped snakes. The serpent represents life and healing. For instance the Doctors’ symbol: A staff or rod with a snake curled around it. This is the Rod of Aesculapius (also called Asklepios), the ancient mythical god of medicine.

All we can do is to speculate. I thought of maybe the serpent had legs or wings but certainly it’s not a snake because snakes do not eat dust if we are to compare to snakes of today.

  6. Roberta Jackson says:

I always assumed it was 4-legged animal: Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made.

  7. Harold Goldman says:

Satan is not an animal these are personifications of what he is like not what he looks like

  8. Noble Amandah says:

He is spirit so I suppose he had to come in s form and chose a serpent, sounds like he has free will too

  9. Harold Goldman says:

Satan has no creative powers he can not take on a different form

  10. Richard Byron Mator says:

Wrong about Satan, when the Angel’s came down and had sex with the woman on the earth they had to change their forms until the Lord commanded that they could no longer take fleshly form. But they still can change their molecture structure even now and its accepted that demons can take on alien form

  11. Richard Byron Mator says:

Btw, in the apocryphal books. Animals could speak. The Lord had to dumb them down to make them submissive to man.

  12. John Campbell says:

    Genesis 3:1..”Serpent”
In original Hebrew “Nachash” used here as an adjective meaning “shining one”
A divine being not from the animal kingdom.

  13. Zach Payne says:

I believe it’s more figurative than literal. The curse God puts on satan points to Jesus from the very beginning. If you want to go literal a serpent could mean lizard and there are legless lizards who have to move like snakes
