I recently purchased this book from Amazon. I have perused it and I believe it is the best book I have seen from a Church of God author on the subject of Wesleyan Entire Sanctification. John Sims follows closely the Wesleyan view defending instantaneous, entire, perfectionist sanctification. It is an excellent read for anyone interested in studying a holiness view of sanctification.

He does not dismiss gradual progressive aspects but puts it in a Wesleyan focus.

    I’ve read this in college

  2. I have seen sanctification both ways. One of the miracles I’ve seen is when one who was never churched or taught anything about Jesus or the Bible comes to the Lord, is instantly saved, sanctified and Baptized in the Holy Spirit. To me, that is one of the greatest miracles. I was an alter worker at the time I saw some of these things happen in those Spirit filled revivals in the 70s. To me, that is a miracle!

It was an instant work for me! I startedto think I was going to lose my temper and there all the sudden, a day or so after feeling an overcoming joy come into my heart while listening to a song that spoke about “There is now no condemnation, Jesus’s blood has set me free”, that experience of joycarried me, and the next day or so, I thought for a moment, I might lose my temper, I felt a strong pull in my heart, and there was no anger! However, Satan is very Wiley and we must die daily. We must mature in possessing our vessel, in sanctification and honor!
