Great question! We might be talking about two different things though. The I prayed that prayer that one time is not necessarily salvation. Salvation comes from repentance of sins and faith that Christ paid it all. The repentant believer is gradually sanctified over their life and they’ll come to a place where they love Christ more than this world.
Faith without works is dead.

If we read in Roman’s 5 and 6 where Paul speaks about grace abounding more where sin abounds, he says that we should not remain in sin. Once you accept Christ, you ought to live a life for Him. In Mathew 7:21-23, Jesus says himself that “21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’”
That for me is pretty clear cut.
Consider Christ’s teaching about he who’s sins were forgiven but who did not forgive others. Doesn’t sound like one saved always saved
32 Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:
33 Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?
34 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him

A sin was not saved. All sins were paid for by Christ on the cross. People are saved by grace through faith in Him. A person must be born again to enter the kingdom. If a person is born of the Spirit, it would not make sense to give up salvation. It may be possible but that would make me question his/her new birth experience.

No. Hebrews’ author says you can reject you salvation. But that is not talking about people who struggle with sin, rather, about people who know the truth and want to throw ot away. God is faithful.
To say no is to limit God, Jesus is an infinite being and thus was able to pay for an infinite amount of sins
