I’m kind of struggling with this; What is your thoughts on this scripture?
1 Peter 2:8, [KJV](http://www.christianbook.com/page/bibles/translations/kjv?navcat=Bibles%7CTranslations%7CKJV): “And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, *even to them* which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.”
Double predestination?
Natural man thinks he is good enough as he is. God’s work ofends him by telling him, he is doomed only to hell by nature and that makes tim angry. But it idms a truth we needs to accept before we will be open to what God has to gave. athat ulis why saving faith is a gift, man on his own is too.proud both in his own goodness or evil to yellield to God. God is speaking to human pcychology here becaudse that is how man reacts but it goes much deeper. There is more than one way.to understand what he is saying there at the end aBut by birth, because we arw dead in.sin we are appointed to damnation, but God can over rule that. But there is also the teaching of Predestination. That one we can not know. But we can have confidence ib his love.

The key here is predestination
The word “stumbled” can mean tripping and falling, or it can mean taking offense at or rejecting something or someone. Peter explain that the people stumble because they do not listen to God’s word or obey it. This disobedience refers not to a slipup by someone who tried to obey; rather it means outright rejection of the Word and the Messiah that the Word promised, and a rebellious stance toward God. Some stumbled over Christ because they reject Him or refuse to believe that He is who He claims to be. They have stumbled over the one person who could save them., and they have falling into God’s hands for judgment.

Backing up to verse 7 “Then to you who believe belongs the honor. But to disobeying ones, He is the Stone which those building rejected-this One became the Head-of-the corner, and a stone-of-stumbling, and a Rock-of-offense to those disobeying, stumbling at the word, to which they were also appointed.”
Here’s how I understand this verse; Peter begins by telling those who believe in Christ that honor belongs to them. Then he goes on to speak of those who were also appointed to believe but instead of building a life of faith they let Jesus become offensive to them. As a result, they became the disobeying ones.
