In Genesis 3, Adam is with Eve when the serpent was tempting is he not? If so, why he kept silent?

Adam has every opportunity to stop Eve from eating the fruit. “She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.”
Genesis 3:6 (b). He was right there, he could have slapped the fruit out of her hand, but he didn’t. John Eldridge stated it like this, “Adam chose Eve over God”. He chose sin over obedience. -
Eve was decieved Adam deliberately disobeyed.

Yes he was right there with Eve, I believe he remained silent because he was much like a lot of men of our day, no guts to stand up and speak up

1st. Creation narratives in Genesis (Adam and Eve) were myths. It was in contradiction (counterfeit ( to the Babylonian narratives) of creation. It were written by prophets in exile with Israel. However it stresses the importance of man’s sinfulness, shortcomings and fall from grace. (God as Creator. ) Throughout the epoch of history, in ever religious state of every nation, it’s about return from fall/being sinfulness, to grace/enlightenment/saved.

This is why, tho it was the woman who sinned first, it is and will always be known as Adam’s sin for he was the head of the relationship let failed to take responsibility. Now why he didn’t step up/step in? That is not for us to know but if we are honest ourselves as men it is not hard to understand because we still repeat that same mistake in our relationships after 6000+ years.

The word does not say where Adam was when this took place.He was in the garden but it does not specify that he was right there with Eve

Adam should have spoken up but did not. That has been the mystery of the ages. Some havr suggested, that seeing what was likely to happen love made him want to share Eves fate.

No Adam was not a good keeper of the garden ,why he let an intrude get in ?and where was he when Eve engaged in talking with a strange?and why he didn’t advice the wife to drop everything and just do the will of God ?

I think he was not around I think she convinced Adam by saying see I didn’t die, that’s because the command was given to as a directive don’t do it when he explained it to eve. But satan caught her in her moment of curiosity as to what God said that’s how she was deceived just as we are to men and women we see something we curious that curiosity becomes a action, that old folk saying curiosity killed the cat. She used the same logic satan used on her, remremember nothing happened when she ate, but when Adam ate both their eyes were opened and sin enterentered in first sin disobedience led to fear of consequences, second sin lies, passing the blame instead of repentance right then, then came the first murder. Then generations of people late hav got worse. So God destroyed the earth with flood, then Noah’s descendants over generations people have gone back to sin and doing what they want and forgetting the God that made them, they worship science that they came out of know where, nothing made something.how sad people have fallen.

He was a delinquent husband. He was commanded to tend and KEEP the garden meaning take care of, defend, and protect. He absolutely failed Eve, himself, and most of all God. Genesis 3:6″The woman saw that the tree was good for food and delightful to look at, and that it was desirable for obtaining wisdom. So she took some of its fruit and ate it; she also gave some to her husband, who was WITH her, and he ate it.” emphasis my own.

Adam was with her. He was not being the head, the thinker, the leader. Still a problem in today’s families.

the full text shows Adam was not with eve when she was being tempted. Hebrew gives conclusions first and details second. our western though is details first then conclusions. when God asks what happened Adam shows no knowledge of the serpent this logically indicates he was not there. “because you have listened to the voice of your wife” indicates Eve being deceived talked Adam into eating from the tree. this is the interpretation that is in harmony with the text and it is not popular because the usual interpretation is not looking at all of the texts and drawing conclusions. eve was deceived by the serpent then she unfortunately being deceived the power of the enemy is working through her in disguise to get to Adam. that is how deception works. false doctrine can be spread by a true christian if they are wrong about something that is why there is apologeticts.
