   No sir, it is not true, there is plenty of evidence for persecuted Christians.

   I have never read that book and I’m only answering your question on the matter which you are querying.

   Roman record, Greek history, and many other documented historic accounts of persecution exist outside scripture.
   And it exists even until this day.

   As an atheist, I think it is unreasonable to suggest there was no Persecution of Christians, there was. However, I’ve seen christians claim that they are being persecuted today, in the US. Which is nonsensical.

   So, I would say that there was. But not anymore. At least not to the extent Christians today imagine
