It’s Time To WAPP Your Kids!!!

What is a WAPP??

The WAPP is an acrostic that means “Week Ahead Parent Paper”. It is designed to help parents be the primary disciplers of their kids by helping them engage their kids with principles from God’s Word a “week ahead” of the lesson they will be learning in High 5 Kids Church. Ultimately, it is our mission to make disciples. God did not say go into the entire world and teach Bible lessons. He said, “…go into all the world and make disciples…” Part of the discipleship process is preaching/ teaching Bible lessons, but discipleship at its best takes place in the home. According to Deuteronomy 6:4-9, parents have the primary responsibility to disciple their children. The WAPP is a tool designed to help parents with this process. So, go ahead, WAPP your kids. They’ll be glad you did…eventually.

How does the WAPP work??

We hand the WAPP out on Sundays. You read over it and sometime through the week go over memory verse, big idea, and bible story and do the practical action steps with your kids. The following Sunday we will reinforce the WAPP material that you went over with your kids by making the Bible stories come to life through dramatization, worship experiences, object lessons, engaging illustrations, preaching and prayer. Then, Sunday night during our FOCUS time, the kids have a chance to discuss the messages taught and reinforced throughout the week and that morning. They do this through games, worship, discussion and prayer. The WAPP helps unify and maximize our discipleship efforts combining the influences of church and family.
