I’ve been curious about this lately, if you are an atheist feel free to answer or if you are a Christian feel free to give answers from what your heard or speculate.

What is the motivation for setting your scope on Christianity and Christians? What is the point for you? I’m hoping someone will be able to be introspective and honest with themselves and answer from a genuine space but I’m curious what the meaningful purpose of it is. If you are successful in pulling someone out of Christianity, what did you accomplish?

    atheists tend to think that Christians are stuck on this childhood fantasy of a mystical being in the sky. They don’t understand why anyone with a logical mind could believe what they think of as a fantasy. It aggravates them that everyone doesn’t think the way that they think. That’s pretty much the feeling I get when I engage in a back and forth with atheists. Agnostics are so much more pleasant to deal with.

    I think it has a lot to do with the presumed arrogance that Christians know the truth. Why the God of the Bible, why not any other god of human imagination? Not knowing the truth or believing there may not even be a truth is a sad state, and misery loves company.

    I think there is a different of atheist and anti-theist one does not believe in God and other fights against the Idea of God

    I find dogmas to be quite repulsive overall, especially if they have the backing of institutions and people in positions of authority, power, or influence. Christianity is disgusting and absurd in almost equal measure to me. The question about why atheists attack Christianity has a simple answer: it is the faith we are most familiar with and is the religion most ubiquitous in the West.

    Truth. That’s literally the only reason I’m a Christian. Christ rose so I’m a Christian.

    Mark Sparks Here’s my simple perspective as a minority Christian (I live in Asia, btw): Christianity is the biggest religions population in the West. And don’t forget that in the age of tolerance and acceptance, Jesus Himself is not tolerant: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:16). That’s pretty bold, eh? No wonder Christianity get many “attackers”. Put emphasis on Christianity, not the individual Christians, though.

    You obviously do not understand what it means to be a Christian. being a Christian is a relationship with God and not a system of beliefs or rules.
    If you are able to get a person out of Christianity they were not Christians in the first place

    I used to be a fundamentalist Christian, and at a certain point I realized I had been lied to about all the “evidence” for Christianity. It’s all weak, and the arguments are terrible. Once I came to that realization, I became determined to educate others about the truth, because the truth is all I care about and I don’t want others to live in deception like I did.

    I don’t have any problem with the religion of Christianity itself. What I have a problem with is fundamentalists claiming that Christianity has so much evidence that everyone should accept it. This is a grievous lie.

    It depends on the kind of atheist.. The ones you mean are kind of the anti theist type. For them, it’s the equivalent of evangelism; seeking to deconvert ppl. A lot of atheists are just curious, seeking knowledge, and/or wants to engage with others’ worldview.

    It is Satan driven and always will be. God allows Satan to roam the earth like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. This gives everyone a choice to make.

    I never met an atheist who had something positive to say! All they do is bash others and for some reason they don’t attack Muslims , just Christians. Connect the dots……….they work for evil!

    I have never been truly athiest. I was agnostic and always spiritual before giving my life to our Lord Jesus Christ. I have had too many spiritual encounters over the years to deny that there wasnt something out there or greater than us humans.
