I’ve been in a lot of discussions and I know…

I’ve been in a lot of discussions and I know there are new believers young believers and long time believers. When we first starting going to church we were taught certain things to believe and then you study what you’ve been taught. There must be a time to see if these things we were taught are actually true or not we are commanded by God to do so. Here’s what I am seeing say the discussion about Israel being God’s people as a topic. So someone those out 1 verse like genesis 12:3 And says see the debate is over. Really? The context of the passage is God is going to make Abraham a father of many nations and God will bless those that bless you. As you can see it’s Abraham not Israel it’s nations not Israel. This is just one example that is prevalent in these groups because instead of churches teaching how to actually study the bible they just teach them what to believe. This is indoctrinating people not teaching. This is prevalent in dispensational church’s that teach a pre mid or post millennial view. I am about to tell an important fact about studying the scripture the bible wasn’t written to us but for us. Every author wrote to the audience of that day and unless you read it in light of this truth you will always read as if it was written yesterday and you’ll never understand the literal sense that the author intended and you’ll end up reading into the text your preconceived ideas (this is what’s call eisegesis) we need to draw from the text since it was written to a different audience(exrgesis) I hope this helps remember study to show your self approved of God Rightly dividing the word of truth
