Jesus Has Come

For some time, I have prayed, struggled, meditated and sincerely sought the Lord for something from Him to share, hoping that what was given to me would alleviate the anxiety and stress of this hour that all of us face in a world racing toward judgement.

I had a strange experience in the wee hours of Thanksgiving morning, 2:53 am, to be exact, for I was awakened clearly with a question on my mind that I felt came from the Holy Spirit, and I glanced at the clock with its red digital numbers glowing in the dark. The clear question concerned the stage being set for the rise of the Anti-Christ and how He would easily assume power. It furthered my conviction of the nearness of Christ’s Return, and I wanted to write about that, but something keeps saying to me, “Not yet.”

But now…yes, right now… I simply want to say that Emanuel has come! Isaiah the Prophet told us He would come in Isaiah 7:14…” Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Emmanuel.”

Luke the Physician and Gospel writer, tells us in Luke 1:26-38, how the Angel Gabriel announced to a virgin maid named Mary that the Holy Spirit would overshadow her, and she would conceive, and bear a son who would be called Jesus, the Son of the Highest, and of His Kingdom, there would be no end.

Matthew, a former tax collector, then disciple and Gospel writer, told how the Angel Gabriel spoke to Joseph, telling him to not be afraid to take Mary for his wife, for the child in her womb was the Son of God, and would be called Jesus, for He would save His people from their sin, then Matthew said this coming fulfilled. Isaiah 7:14, “Emmanuel, meaning God is with us,” is coming.

So here it is folks…..Nothing else matters….Jesus has come!
The pandemic doesn’t rule us….it may break our heart with loss….but whatever happens…..Jesus has come.

The decisions and actions of the White House….the Congress….the Supreme Court… really don’t matter….for Jesus has come. The United Nation’s declarations…. World and National rulers, kings, prime ministers, presidents, be they benevolent or despotic and all of their actions, decisions and edicts,…. they are but temporary…..they don’t matter….Jesus has come.

The sin, the perversion, the gross immorality now accepted by society, atheistic ideology that has a stranglehold on so much of the world of academia, corrupted media with its agenda of evil…..they all will be judged by Him “from whose face the heavens and the earth fled away”……because Jesus has come….Jesus will rule…and every knee will one day bow to Him.

Call me a Pollyanna, if you will, and even accuse me of trying to blind myself to reality. My reply is I have never seen things clearer than right now, for though once “I was blind, but now I see.”

Jesus is Savior, the Great Physician, Gentle Shepherd, the Daystar, Prophet, Great High Priest, and King of Kings. He loves, He cares, He listens, and He intercedes…..Jesus has come….Emmanuel…God is with us.
I will not let this present world, and its willing plunge into the abyss of evil, keep me from “the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus….. for Jesus has come!! Emmanuel, yes, God is with us!!

I leave you with a few words from one of my very favorite Christmas carols. Ancient and from the heart, it rejoices in the coming of Emmanuel.

O come, O come, Emmanuel,
And ransom captive Israel,
That mourns in lonely exile here,
Until the Son of God appear,
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee O Israel.
O come, Thou Dayspring, from on high,
And cheer us by thy drawing nigh;
Disperse the gloomy clouds of night,
And death’s dark shadows put to flight,
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Has come to thee O Israel.
