Lee College Heritage Week — February 4, 1980
J.T. “Jake” Roberts with the Sonshine Boys
“I was arrested for moonshining, why not get arrested for Jesus?” J.T. “Jake” Roberts tells of his conversion from a life of bootlegging and his early ministry as a tent evangelist in this first of three Lee College Heritage Week Chapel services in 1980. Reportedly cited or arrested 64 times for preaching the gospel, Roberts served as a church planter, pastor, national evangelist, state overseer, and member of the Church of God Executive Council during his extraordinary ministry.
