Now that our President says to avoid gatherings of 10+ people, should churches cancel their normal Sunday services and go online? What are your thoughts? God bless! š

That’s what our local churches are doing.
-
Itās time to bring church into our homes
-
No. Forsake not the assembling of yourselves together.
-
Any church that trusts God for healing should obey God rather than men.
-
We go on livestream last sunday..
-
We have cancelled all small group bible study and are having two Sunday services to allow for more spacing . We always live stream as well
-
My church will have the doors open every Sunday. If the government makes us were still going to Livestream.
-
What do you guys use in your live stream? Zoom? Google Hangout? Facebook? YouTube? Will you encounter some copyright issue when you broadcast your worship songs?
-
Everyone is overreacting to this ridiculous virus. The flu was 10 times more deadly. Continue to have church services like normal, and trust God that heāll protect you.
-
My church already did.
-
Mine already has. It also started additional community outreach efforts based on the needs of folks in our community during this situation. Strong leadership. These are the times when we can really see God move… Through us! ?
-
We have called off all scheduled ministry work in Sunday AM services.
Odd times!!!!
-
Then we will be laughed at by the world because we fail to do what we preach. That is completely lack of faith and trust in God. The Bible says , in the last days like this, don’t stop gathering so that you encourage each other but the world tells you to stop meeting so that you give room to the enemy.
“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”- Hebrews 10:25
-
Chrispine Lupupa Junior the Bible also says to “Pray for those over you” and to obey them peacefully. It is not about lacking faith. That is a ridiculous notion. It is frankly, about protecting our people. That I will gladly do. Wouldn’t you?
-
The church that I go to is doing this, all online
-
Now here is a great controversy; the bible says when says never forsake the assembling when you see the days approaching so that you edify one another. God never put any condition when you should not meet, meaning nothing should stop you from meeting. But the world will tell you to stop meeting while people in bars and other avenues are meeting.
“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” – Hebrews 10:25.
The enemy also knows that God commands a blessing when people gathers together so he tries by all means to stop them. Yesterday at the cell prayer meeting, i was blessed and encouraged by the words of other brethren now suppose we had no meeting, I could have missed those words of edification and encouragement. I felt energized.
“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore. ” – Psalms 133:1,3.
Let’s pray without ceasing , the church is under attack. But all things will work out for good.

Even Jesus when he was a baby in the flesh needed guidance from the Father. Why did the angel not tell Joseph to stand that God destroy those who want to kill Jesus. But he told them to run. Believers are not forsaking the assembly of themselves but are respecting State law for the benefit of all. Be rest assured not all can operate in that dimension of faith that doesn’t fear the virus
-
we stop mass gathering but we continue our worship
-
When only one or two are gathered, ….. its ok but won’t do much for the budgets…..
-
Yes
-
Nope..this is where faith MUST come into action..we must trust God to protect us from all things. My church is still going strong! Trust God! Faith over fear!
-
Our county has declared a state of emergency. Part of that is no churches can meet in public. Thankful for the ability to live stream and have places to stay in touch. Time to pray in a whole different way.

Caleb Gibson,
āLet every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment.ā Romans 13:1-2Churches and Christians who resist the reasonable, and temporary, requests of local, state, and federal government resist the Lord. This is not faith, it is pride.
āThe Lord opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.ā James 4:6
When the government tells me to do something that God tells me not to do, or not to do something God tells me to do, then I have a Christian duty to resist. Until then, I have a Christian duty to obey.
Donāt justify a prideful & rebellious heart with words like āfaith over fear.ā
-
I believe it prudent to get a pulse from as many members of the congregation and ask them, without guilting them) whether they feel comfortable about continuing to meet. I also believe that when you speak with them you DONāT tell them how others may feel about it so as not to affect how they really feel.
-
Ours has. Meeting online now.
-
My church did.
-
We’re meeting
-
For this week, same as last week, we will be having service. We encourage everyone who is a member of an at-risk group, is currently ill, or has concerns to join our livestream. There is no compulsion. Attendance was half the normal number. Ohio still has an exemption for religious gatherings, funerals, and weddings.
-
I’m praying about live streaming our midweek service tonight instead of having people come out.
-
All of these āfaith over fearā people are self-righteous and prideful.
-
Central Ohio already has
-
Seems prudent…we are the church..still finantially support your home church they still have bills to pay so we have a church to go back to eventually
-
Our service is live online
-
We do online streaming here in Hong Kong. Other churches that are still open are doing extra protective measures to ensure everyoneās safety.
-
As of yesterday, we had to make the announcement as well. ? But yes. I think for now, although our hope is in the Lord, our responsibility is to make sure others are safe and respected amongst this sickness. I mean, I don’t want my kids at church now. Ya know?
-
Since pastors are responsible to care for their flock. And we would never tell a person to not go to a doctor when needed. Adjusting to online is not I reasonable. God did give us a mind to reason with. Additionally going into the situation with arrogance is the very thing God detest. However, entering into the situation with prayer and an attitude of humbleness is a good idea.
-
I believe we should listen to the experts and not gather. With the high degree of transmission it is not wise to meet. I see it as obeying those in authority, it is a great testimony to the world.
-
i suspect many churches are not set up to go online and many older people are not online so this idea will not work for them.
-
yes, thru tech. we can meet. hebrews 10:25
-
The response to this same question from a girl in another group Iām in was: How do you think the church (I.e. body of Christ) survives in countries where Christianity is outlawed? And yes, it does still survive because WE are the church.
-
With churches not able to congregate in person we must tear down the walls that separate us spiritually, and come together, whether in our own homes or online.
I have been offering to Bible study with anybody who can only reach out through social media.
God works in mysterious ways and I see more and more of these churches going online that normally have not. God will use this time to serve his purpose. May the grace love mercy and blessings of God be upon us all in the good days and the bad. In Jesus name, Amen! -
Most are around here if they have the tech skills
-
God is not limited to a particlar time or place or gathering. He is still with us, we have his word and we are never alone because he is with us.
-
We have to remember even in the Old Testament that God had quarantine laws for certain illnesses. I know that we are in the New Testament, however, there are some sanitation laws that society does today.
-
I sure hope not.
-
My church, The Chapel broadcasts on tv and online. Churches should be closed, safety first!
-
Thank you for all your responses! It helps to get a lot of advice during times like this.
-
Already done in a lot of churches.
-
Better to have good small groups more like original plan Yeshua gave us in the first 3 centuries that worked like no other revival on history!
-
They are already doing this.We are still the body of Christ. The early church grew during hard times and they were also persecuted. Were not there quite yet. So do we depend on a building or our faith?
