Now this may not have anything to do with apologetics per se, maybe this will be more suitable on another christian facebook page. If anyone has any suggestion for facebook pages that deal with this kind of thing exclusively, please let me know ??.

Anyway, here’s my question –

Have any of you watched or heard of Bill Wiese’s 23 minutes in hell testimony/experience? And if so, what are your honest thoughts? There are a few people who are christians themselves pointing Bill out to be falsely claiming his experience?

Another persons experience in hell is not what will save you. It’s difficult for me to believe anyone’s experience “to hell and back”. Our imaginations of hell should be enough to avoid going there. Again, not discounting what he claims happened. But I don’t understand how a persons supposed experience in hell is anything more than an enticing story. Kinda like “Big Foot”.

My opinion of Hell is being separated from God. If I’m heaven we get new bodies than that means if we are separated we are just souls floating. No eyes for sight, no ears for hearing, no hands/skin for touch, no nose for smelling, no mouth for talking. Nothing but the void. And of course the soul would no longer have God’s protection so it would be free for “anyone’s” taking and doing what “they” will.

To get a taste of what separation from God might be is: imagine there was a high pitched sound that has been ringing since man existed. That would mean most people wouldn’t hear it. We may know that a sound exists but we can’t hear it cause we’ve adjusted to it. But one day the sound randomly stops. That’s when we realize what the sound sounded like. But we won’t be able to hear it again. Only mementoes of it. And I can’t imagine what that would do to or equilibrium or our mentality.

It will be a crazy place for sure when God takes he church and separates from the world. But I’m going on another subject

I have. And I’m not sure what I think about it anymore because my understanding of hell has become more nuanced in my old age. But I like Bill wiese and I’m glad he shared his experience

I believe two statements in scripture coverall these supposed visits to hell and heaven. One of them Jesus said if you were to come back from the dead if the people didn’t believe you before they’re not going to believe you then. The second one is that it is appointed unto man one time to die and then to be judged. So, scripture doesn’t allow for this dying going to heaven or hell then coming back scripture tells us all we need to know about eternal condemnation and why it should be avoided and how to avoid it. Finally we do have King Saul that went to the witch of Endor to bring up the soul of the prophet in was rebuked. The profit from the dead told him that once somebody dies and leaves this world they’ve got nothing more to do with this world. I accept the account of Jesus Christ rising from the dead. I do not accept any of these people adults or children that claimed to have died and gone to heaven or hell and having message that’s so important for us.

I have heard more than one testimony of a hell experience and I found that Bill’s experience totally lines up with scripture. Usually those speak against these experiences are cessationists. Cessationists believe somehow we are past the last days.

Act 2:16-21 KJ2000 16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; 17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: 18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: 19 And I will show wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke: 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord comes: 21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
