People write that God allows sin.

There are two meanings for ‘allow’ that fit such a statement:
1. Gives permission, license
2. Does not actively intervene to stop.

God does not give permission, or license for what he has prohibited.

Not actively intervening does not equal that he desires something to come to pass.

For a human example, the government does limit, by command (law) speed limits. The government does not give permission to supersede the placed limits (THIS is NOT about emergencies, so, please, no rabbit trails).
People speed all the time, the Government does not intervene, most of the time.
It could mandate limiters on all vehicles, causing the inability to speed, but it does not, for it is not obligated to do so. We are the only ones with the obligation and that is to obey.
