Persistent thoughts: “God’s word? It’s just a collection of texts, assembled by the most dominant church fathers. In other words, even if the texts are inspired, the canon is the intentional work of man, right? Why then, should you believe any doctrine derived from it?”

God inspired the canon AND has preserved it for us.
-
Why should I believe you exist or that COLLECTION of words was written by you? Who are you but what you reveal to me?
-
Pick up any text book and ask yourself why you should believe anything in it…
-
It is not “just a collection of texts, assembled by the most dominant church fathers” you’re question comes from a false premise
-
Yes, God used men to note down his own mind (Revelation) in a span of 1600 yrs.But even that Canon collection, was lead by God through his Spirit-2peter 1:19-21.
-
Because.. we don’t believe in random chance but God is active and sovereign over all. But the fact that the canon was already widely accepted before made official helps. This is like dan brown all over again.

You don’t seem to understand the process of the canon. Even Paul as early as during the first century already was dealing with forgerers that were falsifying manuscripts using the apostles names to confuse the masses.
See what big letters I make as I write to you with my own hand!
Galatians 6:11 NET

Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not arrive until the rebellion comes and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction.

The Doctrine of the original apostles is the guideline to the canon.

So, if humans are involved, then the outcome cannot be God’s intended will? Where is the logic in that?

If you truly believe Gods word is just a collection of text assembled by the dominant church fathers and nothing more than a intentional work of men you have not been introduced to its true author. The Bible was written by men who where moved by the Spirit, (2 Peter 1:21) and not by the will of men. If God is who he says he is he can keep his word from being corrupted by the influence of wicked men…..not to say it keeps the wicked from trying to corrupt it. This is why Jesus said he would send us a comforter to guide and lead us into all the Truth. (John 16:13)

The Canon is a set of authoritative books recognized as inspired and tested over the first three centuries of the church as such. To see more on this, See a blog post I published yesterday.

It’s God’s Word! You have a problem with how it was assembled so it suddenly becomes something to be rejected? His Truth remains Truth. NOTHING turns it into a lie! It’s a light on our path and a lamp for our feet. Walk away from it and you will stumble and fall into a deep pit that you can’t pull yourself out of.

to answer the original post would be the same reason a dictated contract is as valid as if the person doing the dictation hand wrote it himself this idea that an all-powerful God cannot communicate to men who are willing to serve him and write down the words that he tells them is simply ridiculous.

Are you familiar with what the Bible teaches about the Holy Spirit and His role in the church of Christ especially during the first century?
You cannot understand the cannon if you do not understand The Work of the Holy Spirit through the Church.
-
I believe it’s generally held that just as the writing was inspired, so was the compilation.
-
I believe God lead “the church” that is His people to bring them together
-
Christ didn’t offer the Holy Spirit for nothing, the choice is to hear what the Spirit is saying in the scriptures or hear what mankind are saying.
My people perish for their lack of knowledge.
Ask, seek and knock and the door will be opened unto you.
Seek Ye first the Kingdom of God and all these things will be added unto you.
Christ said my kingdom is not of this world but the kingdom kingdom to come.
It was the religious and non believers who crucified Christ, not those who followed Christ.
Christ said I am the Way the Truth and the Life and none come to the Father but through me.
Christ ended Theocracy and gave both Jews and Gentiles direct access to God through Him, so no Religion, denomination, cult or any brand one likes to identify God as has any authority, authenticity or validation whatsoever, none at all. What is not understood here?
“Peter”!
Get out of that vessel you’re in and step onto the living waters and keep your eyes fixed on my eyes.
Don’t look left or right being distracted by what’s going on around you and walk towards me doubting nothing at all.
When you call out for me, I will take you by the hand. What is not understood here?

It’s legitimate history. Why would you take the time and risk your life to journalism of your life in vain. It’s filled with hundreds of eyewitnesses at least. God’s power is still evident. The idea of right and wrong doesn’t just come naturally.

May i ask, you believe that the “collection of texts” (are you referring the 66 books of the Bible?) are the infallible and inerrant Word of God?
And your only problem is about “canonicity” of those sacred texts?
