I don’t think we should celebrate any festivals besides what are stated to be celebrated in the Bible. So holidays should only be Passover, the festival of Tabernacles, Hanukah (Not Christmas it’s not mentioned), and the other Jewish holidays, oh and the celebration of Passover needs to include the Eucharist as well (Do this in rememberance of me). So that’s it. Only the festivals mentioned in the Bible. All others are to be considered pagan and evil. Sound good?

My kids and I do not celebrate demonic hollowween, we celebrate instead October 31st reformation day when Martin Lither nails the 95 thesis on the church wall. We remember this day by dressing as super heroes and walking our neighborhood collecting free candy.

The Holy Spirit convicted me regarding these worldly pagan celebrations two years ago and my family no longer participates in them. We are no longer of the world and we therefore choose not to look like the world. These pagan customs were created to honor demonic spirits and as Christians we have no business giving honor to false gods. I have no interest in debating my position with anyone else, just stating my position.

Celebrate no I’ll participate to an extent and I always will it is fun. I don’t really care what any of the rest of you think. if I ever feel convicted about it then I’ll stop.

It depends on if the Holy Spirit leads you. I participate. I light up my house, decorate it as like Heaven and dress up like Moses or Noah, I play Worship music outside my home and pass out candy and add witnessing tracks or pocket bibles to everyone! It’s a great opportunity to share the gospel by giving them the gospel!
We dont celebrate the holiday Halloween but we turn it into an opportunity it’s for Christ to be shared. I mean you have God bringing you unbelievers right to your doorstep?! How can you not give them the gospel?!! -

It depends on what reasons do or do not convict you to or not to celebrate. It’s a personal choice. Not everyone “celebrates” Halloween, although they do participate in dressing up and getting treats.

A lot of Christians find perfectly innocent ways to
celebrate it without allowing their kids
or themselves to celebrate death and all
things evil. There is nothing sinful with
letting your kids dress up as
superheroes or cartoon characters and
letting them collect candy. Many churches
hold trunk-or-treat events now as safe
alternatives so as long as Christians
are not using Halloween to celebrate
death or evil, there is nothing inherently sinful

Well, if Christian’s arent allowed to celebrate Halloween, i also suggest they don’t celebrate Easter or Christmas.

Why would we celebrate Halloween when Reformation Day is so much cooler? Dress your kids up like Martin Luther and have them nail your grievances with your neighbors to their door

Halloween was originally a Christian holiday. It got “paganized” by false studies and reports that were debunked stating christians stole the holiday.

I allow my kids to dress up, but nothing scary or demonic. We like going to church harvest festivals and if we ever do go trick or treating, it’s only in my parents’ gated community.

Easter and Christmas are rooted un a paganism as-well. They aren’t mentioned in the Bible anywhere.
The Jewish Feast are excellent Alternative holidays to celebrate.

I “observe” Halloween these past years by dressing up as Captain America and passing out full size candy bars with kid’s Gospel tracts rubber-banded around them

Be careful to not distance yourself too far from the Tax Collectors and Sinners (and the Halloween participants). We are here to Save them as the Saved don’t need saving. Not 1 sinner out of 1,000 wants to hear anything about Salvation by someone who despises them. Love them first. Witness to them second. -Matthew 9:10-13 ?

You’re celebrating Halloween. You’re not celebrating pagan gods and the things that they “did”, you’re just taking a fun day out of your life to indulge in the feeling of fear, or maybe you’re just doing it for candy. “Easter” is the name of a pagan holiday, but you’re not celebrating that holiday, you’re celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus. Halloween and Easter are just names, they’ll change as the language evolves. It matters why you’re celebrating it. The names of our days are named after other Gods. Wednesday comes from the old English “wodnesdæg”, meaning “Odin’s Day”. Saying that these holidays are bad is like saying that it’s bad to call the days of the week their given names. Sunday is still God’s day, even if its name says it’s the “day of the sun”. Just like an atheist would still celebrate Christmas and not for the birth of Jesus but of Santa and presents, we can celebrate these holidays. They’re all just names.

No, celebrating Halloween , is celebrating demons. Many holidays have origins in paganism, but are now totally celebrated as Christ’s birth or resurrection, but Halloween doesn’t even pretend, it’s all about demons, and witchcraft

I feel like that’s more of a “religious” question but it is more onto your relationship with you and God.
It’s like pretending to put on a costume (that you admire or like) and go out and have fun. I don’t see how that would be “harmful” to your faith but everyone falls short of sin so. So becareful what you get into.There is an app out there called “Gotquestions.org” and it touches the controversial topics.

No way. Can’t Christianize an evil day. Look at the history and what you are suppprting. Churches can call it harvest festivals and only dress up in ” biblical ” costumes but it doesn’t change what Halloween represents and it is evil

Why not just celebrate Reformation Day instead. It’s also October 31st and it’s a meaningful holiday for the Protestant Church. Leaves room for education and you can still dress up– maybe in period wear? Still have candy or eat German food in honor of Martin Luther’s bravery? Lots of options.
Halloween has lost all it’s original meaning, I don’t see it as being harmful if you’re just in it for the candy and fun costumes; a meaningless sales holiday. The problem is when people become almost enraptured by the death and gore; that’s a problem. Christians should be loving good generally wholesome things. Not saying you can’t like horror movies, just we shouldn’t indulge in things that would tempt us to stray. If Halloween is a temptation for you, avoid celebrating it. You could also use this time to evangelize. People are all into the darkness at that time. Why not show them the scariest thing that exists is Hell. It’s a real place and people will go to it if they’re not reconciled with the Lord.
Just know God does not deprive of us of good things, so if Halloween is a temptation God has given us alternatives that are honoring to Him. ? I hope that helps -
Halloween is different down here in the south. You get free candy. I can understand the hesitation, especially up north.

Yes Christians can celebrate and take part in halloween. Halloween is not Satan’s birthday, and it is not an “evil” day that celebrates demons. Christmas and easter have many traditions that take root in paganism, examples are Christmas trees, lights, and easter eggs. Can you celebrate Halloween in a good way, dressing up in fun costumes and getting candy of course. Can people use Halloween in a negative way, of course. Just like people can use Christmas as a reason to spend money and not to remember the birth of Christ

A lot of Pharisees in here. Kids (and adults too) get to dress up, have fun with their mates and get lollies. Who cares!

All of this just came up a few yrs ago. Until then everyone went trick or treating. Christians don’t worship the devil or have anything to do with him. It was all about families and getting some goodies.
