And when Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” Now some of the scribes were sitting there, questioning in their hearts, “Why does this man speak like that? He is blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?” And immediately Jesus, perceiving in his spirit that they thus questioned within themselves, said to them, “Why do you question these things in your hearts? Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Rise, take up your bed and walk’? But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins” —he said to the paralytic—

Any verses from the bible that says Jesus is not God?
-
No, it’s much clearer than that. Jesus wasn’t satisfied to say that “I am God.” That would have left things open to interpretation. Jewish, Roman, Hellenistic society was pluralistic and rife with idolatry. All sorts of people said “I am God”. Instead, Jesus said things that could not be mistaken. Like, “before Abraham was, I AM”. Jesus communicated specifically that he is YHWH.

God the father himself, declared openly and publicly Jesus is his son when Jesus was baptized.
Jesus did not have to say he is God , for God the father did it for him. -
-
I will have to look up where it is, but Jesus says “when you have seen me, you have seen the Father.”

Any verse where JESUS SAYS he is God?
Zero, none. -
Every Chapter of the Bible point and told us Jesus is God.
If you refuse to see Jesus been God in any chapter its not book of the bible you’re reading and maybe you’re reading novel in guise.
I can’t even pick one chapter that said anything contrary or point us to something or someone else.
If you need help to see Christ been God in any path of the bible I can help you out.

The book of John makes it pretty clear

Thanks my brothers. You have been a good help.
-
if the old testament preaches to put all your trust in God, and the new testament preaches you should put all your trust in Christ, only those who believe Christ is not God in the flesh would have a problem considering the Bible says we shall not have two Lords.

Uhh.. the very whole reason Jesus was crucified was for blasphemy – he claimed to be God.

A whole bunch. Only the cognitively dissonant can’t see it.

Also just read the whole book of John.
John 14: 6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life.No one comes to the Father except through me.7 If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”
8 Philipsaid, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.”
9 Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me?

-
I agree with Lyn Zee – John chapter 1 is key. The word was God in verse 1. Then the word became flesh in verse 14.

Then read revelation chapter 1 – He is the Alpha and the Omega.

Who is the Alpha and the Omega?
Of course, Jesus
Revelation 21:6-7 (KJV) 6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. 7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

The whole Bible from start to finish points to Jesus Christ. He is the center of all things. How can you read the scriptures and NOT discern that Jesus is 100% man and 100% God? The Trinity has always existed. We may not completely understand how it works, but God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit are all one God. Since the beginning of time, He has always been the great I am. Jesus taught this as well.
-
Philippians 2:1:11
-
I wonder what this verse tells you:
Philippians 2:9-11
“Therefore God has highly exalted Him and has freely bestowed on Him the name that is above every name, that at the mention of the name of Jesus every knee shall bow, of those in heaven, those on earth and those under the earth and that every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the Glory of God the Father.” -
Is the Lord Jesus Christ God? Yes, but not literally. He is nowhere said to be “God,” but rather the “image of the invisible God.” God is spirit (JN.4:24), and is therefore “invisible.” What we know about the Father is made know through His Son. The “image” is defined as, as likeness, a representation, a pattern. Jesus refers to God as “Father” over 165 times.
-
All throughout!! It’s everywhere. You literally have to be blind to not see it.
-
No where does it actually say Jesus is God. But there are many verses you can see the word referring to Jesus as being the same image of God. From the beginning in Gen. 1:26 God said let us make man in our image according to our likeness , col.1:15 He is the image of the invisible God the firstborn of all creation for by Him all things were created. Both in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible wheater thrones or dominion or rules or authority, also john 12:20-22, herbrews 1:3, and my 2 favor John 1:1 in the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God. John 1:18 no one has seen God at anytime the only begotten God who is in the bosom of the Father He has explain Him.
If proof is what you’re looking for I believe there’s enough that refers to Jesus as being God. For example the word as we all know is Jesus but does it say Jesus is God no not that I can see -

He said he came to forgive sin. Only God can forgive sins. And Jesus would say I AM. When mentioned in the OT most times I AM meant God.

1. John 10:30 The Father and I are one.
2. Philippians 2:5-6 You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to.
3. John 17:21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
4. John 1:18 No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.
5. Colossians 2:9-10 For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily. and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority.
Jesus claimed to be God.
6. John 10:33 “We are not stoning you for any good work,” they replied, “but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God.”
7. John 5:18 This was why the Jews were seeking all the more to kill him, because not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.
Jesus is the Word.
8. John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
9. John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

There does not have to be versions, the original text said it.
-
There will be no exact words “Jesus is God” because it was written in a culture and time where the description of God was given in an ancient and prophetic way. We have trouble accepting Jesus is God because it wasn’t written in our modern day. And if it were written in our modern day, false Christ’s have come out and literally say they are God. No one believes them. So those words Jesus is God, are not a sign of Jesus being God. His fulfilled prophesies and miracle’s and his resurrection from the dead and Him identifying himself as the the great “before Abraham was I Am” are great signs of Him being God.
-
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:1 KJVThe Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 1:14 NIV -
I get this question from a lot of Muslims. Not really genuinely asking but because they think that they can disprove Jesus’ deity by asking it. The OT always points to the coming Messiah. The NT fulfills that prophecy.
I pray for Muslims. That the Lord opens their eyes and softens their hearts. We cannot enter the kingdom of heaven through works. We can’t enter the heaven by rejecting the Son: Christ Himself.

When Jesus was in the garden of gethsemane , Judas having received the band of soldiers in order to arrest Jesus, when they came Jesus asked them whom they sought, when they said his name JESUS said to them ” I AM ” and they fell backwards, then Jesus said to them “if I have told you that I AM let these go their way”

“For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything. For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven.
And although you were formerly alienated and hostile in mind, engaged in evil deeds, yet He has now reconciled you in His fleshly body through death, in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach— if indeed you continue in the faith firmly established and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, was made a minister.”

As promised, here is my belief as to why there are three persons in 1 godhead.
John 14:26
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.
Here, the Holy Spirit is a helper, to teach everything that Jesus said. No human or angelic being would do this.
Genesis 1:26
“Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
Here, the 1st person plural indicated that Jesus and the Holy Spirit were all present before the foundation of the earth.
John 1:1-5
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”
There are several instances where Jesus is saying “before Abraham was, I am”, “the father and I are one” etc..
1 Corinthians 2:10-11
“These things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. For who knows a person’s thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.” -
Hmmm…the Lord thy God, the Lord your God, your heaving Father. These are in various verses, but doesn’t saying verbatim.

The whole gospel of John highlights the divinity of God. John 1:1 begins with Jesus as God. But there is the most beautiful testimony written in how an doubting Thomas became a devout Thomas. When He saw His Master risen from the grave listen to how he then sees Jesus:
“KJV John 20
28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.”Further evidence is the burning bush where Jesus speaks: I AM the God of your forefathers”.
It also depends on which word for God is used . it can be used as a collective or a plural meaning one of the Godhead, or it can be used as the singular meaning God, The Father.
Butalso see Isaiah 9:6 and Isaiah 43:10-12

Somewhere here in the comments of one of my comments, I put hundreds of verses that I’ve put together over the years that prove that Jesus is God.

I believe the minimum criteria to join this group should be –
1. Must have read Old Testament at least 2 times.
2. Must have read New Testament atleast 7 times.Anyways here is your answer.
Jesus Christ is the only way into Heaven.
10. 1 John 5:20 And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
11. Romans 10:13 For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
I am He
12. John 8:57-58 The people said, “You aren’t even fifty years old. How can you say you have seen Abraham?” Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, before Abraham was even born, I Am!”
13. John 8:22-24 This made the Jews ask, “Will he kill himself? Is that why he says, ‘Where I go, you cannot come’?” But he continued, “You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. 24 I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am he, you will indeed die in your sins.”
14. John 13:18-19 “I am not referring to all of you; I know those I have chosen. But this is to fulfill this passage of Scripture: ‘He who shared my bread has turned against me.’ “I am telling you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe that I am who I am.
First and Last: There’s only one God
15. Isaiah 44:6 Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts: “I am the first and I am the last; besides me there is no god.
16. 1 Corinthians 8:6 Yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist.
17. Revelation 2:8 “And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write: ‘The words of the first and the last, who died and came to life.
18. Revelation 1:17-18 When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his right hand on me, saying, “Fear not, I am the first and the last, and the living one. I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades.
Only God can be worshiped. Jesus was worshiped.
19. Matthew 2:1-2 After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”
20. Matthew 28:8-9 So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him.

The Trinity
22. Matthew 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
23. 2 Corinthians 13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

John 10:30 …..
Amazingly when using this verse most people tend to ignore the previous verse where Jesus claims his father is greater than all.
John 10- 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.
If The father and I are one is scriptural proof or at least evidence that Jesus is God what should be made of Jesus’ prayer.
John 17- 20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; 21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. 22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: 23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
Did Jesus pray that the disciples would also be God as he Jesus is God. when he prayed that they also be one in us? And made perfect in one?
Earlier in the same chapter Jesus had also asked the father to keep them so that they would be one as he and the father are.
John 17-11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.
Jesus also states that he has given the some glory that he received from the father to future believers so that they can be one AS the father and son are one.
John 1- 22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
So being one with the father would seem to mean unity with the father rather than literally being the same as the father.
This language is also used by Paul where he states that the one who plants and the one who waters are one.
1 Corinthians 3-8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.
Here Paul was actually simply stating that he and Apollos were one in purpose. Paul being the one who planted (the seed) and Apollos being the one who watered.
1 Corinthians 3- 5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man? 6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. 7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase
John 10:30 as a proof text for the trinity is cherry picking at its finest
