The Seventh-day Adventist’s Harbor Chart
As Seventh-day Adventist Christians, we believe that as our vessel-our church-nears its heavenly harbor, there are dangerous reefs that could cause shipwreck of faith.1 Tim 1:19 So God has given us a harbor chart is the writings of the Spirit Of Prophecy. The Spirit Of Prophecy is a body of writings penned by Ellen G. White,who, we believe, was inspired of God. We believe that just as the Recife harbor map agreed with the high-seas map at every significant point, so the Spirit Of Prophecy writings agree with the Bible at every significant point. By comparing these writings with the Bible, we have concluded that they are divinely inspired. The Bible is the time-tested high-seas chart by which we know whether our harbor map, or any other harbor map for that matter, is divinely inspired. Mansell

Moon River Why did God wait till the 1800’s to give prophecy to Ellen White and not give it to the apostles who wrote the bible?

EG White was a flaming heretic.
Her cult sprang from the Millerite Great Dissapointment. She was a false prophetess who set a date for Christ’s return. When it failed, she invented the Investigative Judgment heresy.
SDA are fallen from grace snd Christ is of NO effect for them, per Galatians due to requiring the Mosaic Law being obeyed as a condition if salvation

Ellen G. White never admitted that the false prophecies about the Lord’s supposed return in the 1800s were amiss. Mr. Miller was humble enough to admit that he had missed God. Not Ellen. She defended the false prophecies to her last breath. In the Great Controversy book, she compares those false prophecies to Jonah’s prophesies to Nineveh. Jonah’s judgment prophesies were postponed 100 years due to the Ninevites’ repentance. There was no great nation-wide repentance in the USA at the time of Miller’s 2nd coming false prophecy that could account for the Lord’s coming being delayed over 100 years now. It is a rationalization she used to excuse her naive acceptance of a false prophecy. That being said, her lack of repentance explains why she fell for more deception which followed. Her adoption of the enforcement of Moses Law in whole or in part on Christians is the error that makes SDA incompatible with biblical Christians who serve under the New Covenant alone instead of foolishly and bewitchingly trying to mingle two incompatible covenants. The continuing delusion is the fruit of the original pride.

Shw was nothing but a liar. Like all cult founders, John Calvin to David Koresh, she wanted power over people and saw the religious idiots who refused to study as easy ñickings. She was right about that.
