There has been a lot of comments on here about CoG women and how they should dress and present themselves to the public. Comments by Charles Page and descriptions by Thomas Wolfe have got me to thinking a lot more about this very complicated and involved subject.
Take the subject of hair alone; billions of $ has been spent and zillions of hours have been consumed trying to do something about those protein filaments that grow follicles out of the dermis.
Nature hasn’t been kind or dependable, hair grows out kinky, frizzy, curly or too straight. It’s color can be bright or dull, oily or dry and the hair doesn’t always compliment the face. Thus the need to style the hair so as to draw away attention from a plain face and there is always a need to create a mood for the moment.
Woman once visited by the “ curse “of childbirth, child rearing, husband and garden tending, not to mention working in factories and offices, delivering the mail and UPS packages, housekeeping and meal preparing have noticeably let their hair go having shifted hair to a lesser priority. It takes time and money to keep a hair-do in tip top shape and women are often short on both. Thus many are saying; I’m having a “ bad hair day.”
