There will always be another fire, virus, market crash, drought….

There will always be another fire, virus, market crash, drought. For our entire lifetimes over and over. But we are not to live in fear like we are just functional atheists. We are called to do simple things in these times. Love God. Love others. And to know our future is not to be fearful, even when we suffer, because suffering will continue. But to put our trust in the gospel, the good news. Jesus came to rescue us. Teach us about the Kingdom to come and how to love each other now. Destroy the work of the devil that destroys our communities. Die in our place as the punishment for sin. Rise to show we could have everlasting life with God and each other. We get the Holy Spirit to guide us. To teach us. To comfort us. We worry too much about “the stuff”. We’re not orphans in some cosmic disaster. We are deeply loved. But we have to take the step of faith.
