Yes, non-canonical apocrypha. Michael Heiser has derived interesting findings from Enoch. YouTube him, if you’re interested.

It’s a historical Hebrew book whose language helps us to better understand language in the bible. Not inspired by the Holy Spirit.

There is quite a few verses that go against the word of God regarding forgiveness of sinners and other specifics. There is actually a debunk website which highlights the poison of Enoch. Nonetheless I do believe it contains accurate knowledge of the moons paths and other astrological movements.
I read a fair bit of it, and it has the feel of a fake spirit or the same spirit of the New age movement with its annoying rambles of spiritual crap, that my very sharp intuition doesn’t feel much truth to.
Still may be useful. -
I have read so much metaphysical and alternative spiritual works, that I have developed a sense of them and the spirit behind the works, when I read Enoch I feel this spirit behind it. All I say maybe utter rubbish to you, but to others who can see, they know exactly what I am saying.

I’ve read it. I find it to be a lovely piece, filled with a possible history. I don’t take the book at face value, that is to say, I don’t use it to in any way to further my faith. I think that’s the most important thing to remember when reading pieces outside of the Bible or the Apocrypha.

Interesting but you have you have to remember that people have added to it. That’s there is 2 Enoch and 3 Enoch.

It’s got some interesting stuff in it like the Apocrypha. It has some interesting points about the Nephilim and it gives us a background of understanding of what the term “Son of man” means, as it’s a term of divinity. Other than that, it’s not scripture. It has false things in it but it’s a historical reference.

Same thing I think of the Seahawks. They always sound good, but haven’t really lived up recently.

It’s not in the Bible for a reason. There is no proof that it was authored by Enoch. Paul warned Titus about this junk when he wrote to Titus: “Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.” Titus 1:14 In short, it’s a Jewish fable that will only distract and lead down a bunch of weird, random rabbit holes…

It’s an interesting book but I wouldn’t look at it for spiritual guidance or enrichment. What righteous man would petition God on behalf of evil beings such as fallen angels and nephilim? Not one. The Nt mentions it and I believe quotes it but it doesn’t qualify it as being of God.

The book of Enoch is quoted twice in the New Testament but the whole book is not inspired scripture.

It’s an awesome book. I recommend it. Fills in a lot of gaps.

Enoch prophesied but never wrote a book.Some wanna-be-famous guy made up a story, called it the book of Enoch and inserted Enoch’s actual prophecy most likely handed down by oral tradition. You find this same attempt to invent sacred writtings with Joseph Smith’s Book of Mormon and Muhammed’s Qu’ran.
