There’s a difference between “debating” and “arguing”. What’s the difference?…

There’s a difference between “debating” and “arguing”. What’s the difference? Respect. Can we not engage in debates and still respect one another? For those of us who call ourselves Christians, when we are attacked and ridiculed for our faith (which it quite common in this group), remember this: we are still called to love. So let us have rational, respectful conversations, free of looking down on people.

And for those of you who are not Christians, can you please at least respect people who disagree with you?

The atheists that are in this group did not get here by accident or chance (no pun intended). They are in here for one of the following reasons…1) to be enlightened about Jesus Christ, The Bible, and Christianity overall 2) to troll and try to get under the skin of believers with their insistent views as to why God is not real and why we’re all stupid for believing in “an invisible sky daddy” 3) shamelessly attempt to argue and debate a Christian into renouncing his/her faith and “convert” that person to atheism or their fallacious worldviews 4) attempt to make us look and feel stupid when they think they stumped us with a deep question that they think we can’t answer so that they can make stroke their ego thinking they somehow outsmarted us and the word of God and our reason for believing in it and then go brag to their unbelieving friends about how they “destroyed” some Christians.

The atheists in this group are fighting a losing battle. They can name call, mock, insult, belittle, and curse us out all they want, but to those of us that are truly born again their attacks are petty and as I told another atheist in this group (who for whatever reason deleted an entire chat where he went back and forth with me in another post) their unbelief only validates the truth of the gospel, not disprove it.

Debating is having a structural exchange of opinions on predetermined topic allowing for exchange and commentary showing respect and dignity and remaining open minded. Arguing is having structure talking out loud , over tell the other in order to be heard , it is talking without listening bejng and getting out of emotional control . When people argue too long with no end in sight , nothing can be accomplished. It becomes a cyclical matter. Respect should be giving as much as possible , otherwise do not argue, be quiet .
