for myself Bethel and Hilllsong, are preaching a false Gospel
However the worship music they produce i find truly moving, should i have we have issues using them

Not too familiar with them, can any one give me an overview about what they preach that’s false?

I believe there is worship music and Christian music. There are songs of faith that I want to lift up to my God and there are songs ABOUT faith and the experience of being a Christian that I enjoy. I think Church worship songs should reflect our worship of God and be doctrinally sound. Give me the other songs during the week. But there should be false doctrine in them.

There is a difference between contemporary Christian music and worship music. Even if they taught solid gospel, most of their music would still not be worship music.

The problem is that the music is kind of like a hook. When I was all into that, I did not like music that was more pure musically and doctrinally. Now that I have gotten back into music that is more simple, musically creative and doctrinally sound, I can’t even listen to the other stuff anymore. It hurts my ears and my soul.

I have never really found their teachings to be false or offending but I’ll admit that I have never REALLY followed the teachings of these churches enough to form much of an opinion.
I do however listen to their music. A looooot. I love it -
Can you give me some examples of songs that may not be suitable?

Don’t be lured by the music, if you know they don’t preach a sound doctrine, stay away.

We use many songams already no written by our fellowship. Its the message they. Carry that count.

I don’t think its wrong to listen to the music. I have experienced some beautiful moments with the Lord as I worshiped to their music. Don’t be robbed, allow the music to minister to you or allow the music to lead you into worship. If I like a song, I don’t go out of my way to find out who is singing it, I just enjoy it. I’m not going to be influenced to join their church or anything. Its not devil worship, it’s worship

the reason for my question comes is that , a couple of specific songs, (Raise a Hallelujah, and Way maker) have brought me into close emotional worship with God, on my own, at home, while meditating (concentrating on God) to my knees, and have been the beginnings of some deep seated healing and realizations around my grief and loss of my daughter nearly ten years ago. i am strongly aware of their bad practices, and my personal experiences God has used these two songs to draw me closer to him.

it may seem my mind is made up lol but this is not the case, thanks for your responses, i have an example, the following song, was sung by a guy who was pretending to have terminal cancer, before he was exposed, the song moved me, like really moved me. theologically i find no problem with the song, and after he was exposed, it took a while to work through my position on it. his behavior was later explained that he had a sin addiction, Does or Did this mean that his worship or presentation is then invalid? i know its only one of many verses but was my conclusion, at the time.

But then i hear rumors against them
Haven’t heard/seen any facts. Just that they’re evil -
Grace and peace. It’s disappointing about Bethel and Hillsong. Personally, I would not listen or sing the music no matter how wonderful the lyrics because behind that is a false message and an antichrist spirit.

Why pay those who teach false doctrine when we can put our money to groups that sing sound songs?

I think of Hillsong (I live a few miles from it) as the McDonalds of church. It’s basically still food, kind of, though I def wouldn’t want to eat it every day and night and eat nothing else. It’s fun to visit occasionally though. I’d much rather go there than say to a Metallica concert (which many Christians would go to).

I don’t think Hillsong is connected with that church anymore, are they? I too find the music to be anointed. From out of the heart the mouth speaks… God can take the bad and make it good, test the fruit… if it is good, then so be it. But don’t become judgmental… secular songs have meaning as well… doesn’t mean we should listen to it, for if it doesn’t bring glory to God. Then I would not listen to it.
