Two Things That Will Keep You Going

Vows begin where hope dies. _Leonardo da Vinci

Should I keep on giving and serving even when others can’t or will not reciprocate?

That’s the essence of a question that someone asked me recently.

Its a valid question and, regrettably, an all to common dilemma.

But here’s the deal…

There are two things that bind us in this life: Our word and our mission.

Ifs not a question of “Can I?” or “Should I?” but rather “Did I say I would?”

And it is not a question of whether or not other people are pitching in and helping and contributing their fair share, the question is, “Have I finished my assignment?” You’re not done until you do. It doesn’t matter what others say or do.

The ONE THING for today: “Did I say I would?” and “Have I completed the mission?” these are two things that will keep you going even when others let you down.

“I am not bound to win, but I am bound to be true.
I am not bound to succeed, but I am bound to live up to what light I have.”

Abraham Lincoln
