He acccepts them but not their sin. That is the thing too many like to forget. We are not allright as we are. God wants to change us into what he wants us to be. We can’t take pride in our sin and be his at tbe same time. Forgiveness is not ai ence to do what we want. That is a hard thing for the worldling to accept and yet he must if he is to belong to Christ.

God doesn’t send the sin to hell…He sends the SINNER! To say that God loves the sinner but hates the sin is definitely a false statement!

Sproul said it right, but you don’t hear that truth much nowadays. If you could have both Jesus and your sin at the same time, then please tell me what he saved you from?

It is true that God loves them as they are and accepts their faith in Christ resulting in salvation. To accept Christ is repentance, which word mean to ‘turn around’. Now, having said that, there should be an expectation of a new awareness of sin, righteous, and judgment bringing about a changed life, quickly or over time, a little or a lot, but change nevertheless. Good works is the result of salvation, not the means to it.

Well it depends on what Sproul means when he says “God accepts them.” What does that exactly mean. I can see how that can change everything. Is he referring to salvation only. Depending how that goes it can be seen differently.

When is having divine acceptance an important doctrine? It’s probably because some have fallen prey to a very popular unbiblical concept: “unconditional love.” (Those who are most in favor of unconditional love in marriage are usually cheaters.) The Bible never says God has unconditional love. It is not wise to super-impose human standards upon God. The Bible says before conversion that the sinner is an enemy of God (Romans 5:10; Colossians 1:21), and under the constant wrath of God (John 3:36; Psalms 7:11). God’s love is conditional, not unconditional. The condition is faith in the Gospel about His Son. God hates his enemies with perfect hatred. It is one of His eternal attributes.
