We know Bible doesn’t promote Partiality, but what is Paul really talking about in 1 Corinthians 14:34,35, when he says “let your women be silent in Church”, why Paul says it is shameful for women to speak i. Church??!!

I think I know now…maybe he meant girl talking..chit chatting..hey girl I love your purse! Oh that dress matches your nails! That kind of speak. He mentioned speaking, not preaching.

As a woman, I have led ladies studies, children and teens, but I do not feel comfortable teaching men because I don’t think God intended it to be that way. I’ve always interpreted it as women being silent= letting men lead/teach.
That’s not to say I wouldn’t witness to a man or share God’s love with them outside of church. -

Causing a distraction to the word going forth. She was instructed to ask her husband at home if she needed answers in regards to what the minister was teaching -
They sat on opposite sides of the Church, men on one side, women on the other and he was telling them not to yell across the aisle not to ask questions of their husbands

The customs of that day.. Men sat on one side and women on the other…if they had a question they would have to call out to the man of the house to explain….therefore being disruptive. Pauls instructions were for tgen to be quiet during the services and to get their answers after

God is a God of order and I believe that in the creation account, he placed responsibility and authority in specific sexes.
To be clear, it doesn’t mean that the woman is less than the man.
And it doesn’t mean that a woman should take abuse from a man.
But it does mean that the male is responsible for the physical and spiritual well being of his wife and family.
What does it mean when he says that a man shall leave his father and mother and take a woman as his wife? Does the woman leave her parents? The command is to the male alone. God told the male the rules. We have no account of God coming back and telling eve the rules in the garden. That made it the man’s responsibility to take care of his bride. How?
When you marry, it’s time to leave your mommy and daddy and be responsible for someone else.
Adam knew the rule and apparently didn’t spend much time telling his wife about the rules because she got them wrong.
I think Paul is saying that a woman cannot exercise spiritual authority over a man. She should be able to do anything else but not that. So no, women cannot be pastors over men. They can be pastors over children and other women.
Sorry if you think this is arbitrary but that’s just the way it is.
Women seem to reject this job description of being a helper, or a help meet. The Holy Spirit is also a helper to us and that he does that willingly.

It is not alowed for them to speak or prophecy if they have no gift of phropecchy, much better for them to keep quiet in the church

Women have their own very important and significant role in the body of Christ, but the word is very clear they are not to be preachers or priests. I was very hesitant to except this doctrine however I find that a complementarian approach is the right one even though it does come off as misogynistic. But we are not to lean on our own understandings, in my personal experience females are much better at casting spells than preaching the gospel, and that’s not disrespectful I kind of see prayers as spells

Relationship to the covering of the head, meaning soul and spirit of mankind.
Soul = male an appeal to logic and reasoning
spirit of mankind = female an appeal to emotional and nurturing.Christ covers the head of the man and the Man covers the head of the woman.
Together they are well balanced, in oneness.
The widows and the single females have no covering of their heads, so when acting independently they will naturally appeal to emotion and nurturing, that at times will have no logic or reasoning.
It was Eve in the garden of Eden that deceived herself in motivational and emotional self determination that deceived Adam from His appeal to logic and reasoning.
Married women have every right to preach as long as her husband is with her for balance.

I highly recommend this book. I know the author. He addresses the common accusations of misogyny in the Bible and takes you to the text and draws from several historical sources to help you understand where God and His Word stands on these matters.

The passage talks of orderly things that should take place in a meeting in His Name. In this Name, we seek the good for another. At the end, everyone benefits, everyone edified.
One of the orderly things to do is to allow men to have the authority as they once should. Like Adam should. It isn’t a feel-good thing. It’s a pattern or design.
If man demonstrates authenticity in his prophetic words, church be blessed. If false, he will assume that responsibility for falsehood. Why subject women under such unorderly pattern?
I doubt it was cultural like how they sat separately.

Here’s my view. The context of the verse is this. Paul was giving instructions to women who are behaving inappropriately in relation to church liturgy. There was disorderliness in the Church of Corinth and women were the major cause of it. Keep in mind that Corinthians is a letter that addresses certain problems in the church of Corinth, a problem peculiar only to the church. Therefore the instruction we see in the verse is not for the entire universal church. It is a localized problem that Paul provided a solution.

Paul’s letters were responses to letters from the churches. It is likely it was in response to a problem stated by the church leaders concerning the women creating problems by asking questions. Or too noisy environment. Or lack of order(large group).
The numbers in those churches! And the lack of microphones!!! Excess noise needed to be squashed!!!
If the men are the leaders, why not have the men handle the questions and answers and instruct the women later?This is one perspective.
It could have simply been the setting. Or the congregation of predominantly uneducated women. Or the noise.
But he established order in doing so and it was god-honoring in mimicking gods order and placing in the church.

He is saying women shouldn’t speak in regards to all the other scriptures regarding women in the church. Women cannot be leaders in the church because Eve sinned because she could grasp Gods word. God clearly said thou shall not eat, and Eve allowed Satan to pervert that word and she believed Satans miss interpreted word. We see this also when Gods word said to Abraham, with your wife Sarah, you shall conceive and have a son. Sarah perverted God’s word and miss interpreted it and had Abraham sleep with Hagar, which was sinful from the get go, and that resulting sin caused strife and troubles, not only in Abraham’s household, but it made Ishmael that God set as a thorn in Israel’s side for all times. Scrioture is clear that women aren’t allowed to hold position in churches, but keep silent because they cannot rightly divide the word. Their role is clear, in scripture they are to instil godly manners and teach the children at home the virtues of Godly people.
