What does it mean to say we arent under the old law? Why are we not under the law? Dosent the bible say Jesus did not come to abolish the law but rather to fulfill it. What laws are we no longer under and why?

Jesus came to fulfill the law for us because we cant.

The Law and the Prophets were proclaimed until John. Since that time, the good news of the kingdom of God is being preached, and everyone is forcing their way into it. – Lord Jesus Christ, Luke 16:16. 1. law was given to Israel through Moses 2. It is until John the baptist’s ministry. 3.The Lord Jesus has fulfilled the law. He has not abolished it. It is good. It gives knowledge of sin. It gives the knowledge that we need a sacrifice. It speaks about the sacrifices without which we cannot commune with God. 4. Through the Gospel the law is fulfilled. Therefore the Gospel is enough. The Gospel is the reality and the law is the shadow.

If you broke the law of Moses, there was to have a sacrifice.
Jesus Christ was the sacrifice to end the OT laws and worship in a whole different way, as Jesus stated to the Samaritan woman at the well.

His Blood fulfilled the sacrificial blood laws

That’s why we are not under the Law because Jesus fulfilled it

When I am “under” the law it means I am guilty of breaking it. I am no longer “under” the law when by God’s grace he helps me to obey

Here’s an analogy for you to consider…….
Remember the story of Jericho?Everyone, including the priests carrying the Ark of the Covenant, marched around the city for 7 days and nights.
For that to be possible one of those days had to be the Sabbath, right?
They weren’t bound by the Law because they had the Law with them.Just like we, as Christians, carry the Law (Jesus) with us

The law was given to show man he was a sinner, and. Forgiveness of sin required a blood sacrifice. But because man was sinful, even the priests who offered the sacrifice a new law was given by the death and Ressurection of Christs “one time sacrifice”. Man was freed from the levitical law because Christ’s sacrifice was enough to pay everone’s sin debt that receives God’s gift of salvation. Because Christ is a Priest of the order of Melchezidek, Christ is eternal. Christ intercedes on the believer’s behalf before God the Father. We are free from the letter of the law and the legalism of the law. We now live by the spirit of the law, and redeemed man & women can now boldly come before the Father in prayer, without the need of an earthly priest. Not that we should not honor those the Lord places over us as undersheppards, because the Lord tells us not to forsake the the assembly of the brethren for the edification of the bost of Christ.

Fulfill literally means to bring to completion. Not destroy, but to complete. Jesus completed all that was required in the old law because we can’t and will never be able to. He is our only way, our only truth, and the only way for life.

We are no longer under it to go to heaven. Jesus paid the way for us

sometimes human is very easily to be caught in some institutionalised symbolism (as social creature) without kowing what is essensial,….?
social conformity s an status symbol,..but doest Jesus think and act in this kind categorial pattern???…

The covenant changed. The law kills, but Spirit gives life. Hebrews 7-9 goes into detail on the subject. Our new covenant is founded on grace.
