What is the difference between having faith and living in denial?

    Hmm.. let me see if I can explain myself clearly here.

    For me, having faith is knowing I will be taken care of. Knowing I will be safe. For me having faith means I don’t have to worry, fear, etc.

    Denial? For me denial is a refusal to acknowledge. Whether it be acknowledge my sin or my short comings. I refuse to acknowledge them.

    For the insider they are opposites. Eg have faith in Jesus or live in denial of his obvious Lordship and divine status.

    For the outsider, faith is the same as denial of reality.

    Faith embraces the reality of the world even as it casts its gaze beyond to something deeper, while denial rejects the provable as it attempts to cast willful ignorance as some sort of noble virtue in the face of persecution.
