As a military veteran, I would read this as “What role does communication with the HQ and knowing the insides and out of your weapon have in protection against extremes?”

It is prayer that maintains intimacy with our Lord and it the hearing and study of God’s words that maintains the wisdom, faith and instruction of the Holy Spirit in one’s life which manifests in discernment to KNOW your enemy and the wisdom to act accordingly. The word of God is our sword and the Holy Spirit is our breast plate of righteousness that guards and protects our heart from the Evil One.

“Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints, and pray on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in the opening of my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel,”
    ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6:14-19‬ ‭NASB‬‬

The Word can only go as far as the person let’s it. Think about the parable of sower and as the condition of your heart when receiving God’s word. God allows free choice. People make their own decisions to be what we consider extreme.

    Proverbs 3:5-6

  14. Arnelle's Page says:

I think of it as what role does communication have in a marriage? The more the husband and wife effectively communicate with one another and continue to seek to understand each other, the less likely they are to push to the extreme (insert devastating marriage horror story circumstance here)
