What’s the major difference in doctrine between independent, southern and American baptists? And is their doctrine truly and entirely biblical based?.

Yea but no some Baptist are biblically sound and some not depending on the pastor or who giving God’s word, the Christian walk is personal and corporate but a person denomination should not define who you are in christ but some people will judge base on that and not biblical truth.

In apologetics the hill I will die on is the death, deity and resurrection of Christ. Everything else is debatable. CS Lewis called it mere Christianity. It literally is the only things RC, Orthodox, and all non cult Protestants agree on. Everything else is just opinion
These are not agreed on Communion. Who and when and use wine or not.
Baptism Dip or sprinkle?
Musical instruments or not
Saturday worship or not
On and on.

All Baptists have common distinctives but in my experience independent baptists tend to be more conservative, southern baptists can be more liberal depending on the leadership and American Baptists by and large are very liberal and don’t hold to orthodoxy. They are the mainline denomination that the southern Baptists split from.
