“We modern people think of miracles as the suspension of the natural order, but Jesus meant them to be the restoration of the natural order. Jesus’ miracles are not just a challenge to our minds, but a promise to our hearts, that the world we all want is coming.” _Timothy Keller, The Reason for God: Belief in an Age of Skepticism
We all live somewhere between hope and despair.
The moment that hope loses that tug of war going on in our soul despair begins to win. It may not be noticeable at first, but little by little courage, innovation, creativity, and joy bleeds away.
Whatever you do, give people hope.
Help them connect what they do and, more importantly, who they are with something that matters.
And you can do this with integrity, for no matter how insignificant a person or a deed may seem, when they do what they do for the love of Christ, their most meager of efforts will align itself with the cosmic and eternal plan of God.
And you?
Don’t you lose hope either!
The ONE THING for today: Do not let despair paralyze you today. Who are you to say that nothing good can happen in your life!? The odds may be 99/1 against you…dare to take that tiny 1% of hope and sling it out into the world in love. After that its in God’s hand and that should give you hope.
Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
(I Corinthians 13:7, NLT)
