Why do god believers rely on faith, when faith cannot distinguish true ideas from untrue ones?.

However this does not dictate that trust is built upon blind, unthoughtful, or unreasonable beliefs.

You can’t prove that you will even be alive tomorrow to do your daily errands, can you? So what should that kind of confidence in not knowing that information be called besides being called faith? Is it blind faith?

Well let us see the error in your statement. Faith come by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Jesus said, sanctify them by Your truth, Your word is truth. So if God’s truth is not good enough for you then it will be foolishness to those who are perishing.

A Christian will see that the question, “What is truth?” is phrased incorrectly. Truth is not a concept: It is a person; Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ is a historical reality. The true nature of Christ is critical to understand and believe. It was fought over in the seven Ecumenical Councils. It was always affirmed that He is the incarnate God. He is both fully man and fully God, not just some virtuous person or esteemed prophet. Only Christians believe this Truth. It is through our understanding of this mystery of God’s revelation that we have the best chance at finding true joy and salvation from the turmoil, suffering and death we face in this worldly life.
A Christian needs to hold firm to their faith. One cannot let it be discounted by those who say it is only one of many paths. It is a path that offers the best hope for the world peace and universal salvation. The teachings of Jesus Christ will not make us arrogant, but will develop in us humility. Following Christ we will not be led to oppress or marginalize others.
Orthodox Christianity is committed to the truth claim of the Christian Faith. This claim includes the Biblical truth that all human beings are created by God in His image and that Christ is the only Savior of the world. -
Faith extends beyond belief to include confidence about something unseen, such as the achievement of God’s will. Faith goes beyond materialism to include beneficial use of the underlying unseen reality.
The entire Chapter 11 of the Epistle to the Hebrews, possibly written by Jesus, is devoted to explaining faith, which is unique to Christianity.
Faith is more than mere thought, emotion, and belief. Faith elevates one’s being, while belief is limited to a mental state or emotion. Faith implies a causal role by the believer in an outcome, or in overcoming a personal fear. Faith also implies advancement or accomplishment of something good, while mere belief does not achieve by itself.
The importance of faith logically follows from the existence of God, as explained in Luke 17:7-10 (merely doing as told is not enough – “We are unworthy servants; we have only done what was our duty.”). God went beyond His duty, obviously, and would prefer His creation to do likewise. That requires faith.

We rely on faith for our relationship with Jesus. We also rely on knowledge from the natural world together you get truth. Simply putting it you can have poth simultaneously and they can cohere. You need more info to figure that out though.

We don’t rely on faith we rely on christ the object of our faith, whom we come to trust after confronted by truth.

We rely on reason and logic. We have faith in Christ because the evidence in His favor outweighs any evidence for the contrary based on the information at our disposal. Therefore, we believe and our faith is in the finished work of Christ.

Like DNA code without a code maker? That makes no sense, but people believe on faith alone, that the molecules somehow created a code that would fill books from here to the sun, without an author. Now that’s BLIND faith.

I think you’re equivocating the word faith here… Faith isn’t an epistemology, rather it is something that one does- it is an activity. People who believe that God exists do so for good reasons. They also have faith in God for good reasons. These are two separate things.

Faith is a critical criteria of God, as God being all knowing knew mankind would not come to the knowledge of God as He requires all mankind to do.
Unfortunately many believers think faith is all that’s required, the end of, when in actuality in means the beginning of trust in God, to trust in one’s relationship with God and to do the will and purpose of God in Objective Truth and Morality that requires no interpretation whatsoever, in the will and purpose of God.
Faith in context of scriptures is to trust in God having no thoughts of tomorrow.

Our faith is in what Christ did for us…..however we are STRONGLY COMMANDED in the New Testament to test everything and not let ourselves be deceived by anything or anyone. This includes testing we are not listening to false teachers right down to testing the motives of very our own hearts.

Scripture doesn’t really claim that faith leads to Truth. Most followers of Jesus, as we are commanded to do, build our faith upon reason, logic, evidence and facts, all of which point to the Truth.
That is, in fact, the entire purpose of apologetics: to provide evidence to supplement, build up, and strengthen one’s faith that we have the Truth.
Anyway, scripture doesn’t really teach that faith leads to Truth. Far from it. John tells us that evidence leads to truth (because eye witness accounts ARE evidence):
The one who saw this has testified, and his testimony is true. He knows he is telling the truth so that you, too, may believe,
(John 19:35)Jesus indicates that the Truth can be found by listening to His TESTIMONY, which again, is a form of EVIDENCE, and those committed to Truth listen to the evidence Jesus gives us in the form of His testimony.
Pilate asked him, “So you are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. I was born for this, and I came into the world for this: to testify to the truth. Everyone who is committed to the truth listens to my voice.”
(John 18:37)So real, solid believers have strong faith because we have believed the TESTIMONY (a form of evidence) that we find in scripture.

Faith is based on the Word of God, therefore God has the ability to make things I don’t see immediately and bring them to reality.
Ex. Farmers plant seeds by faith. Their actions demonstrate that faith by plowing/sowing ect. The the reality of their faith is a harvest.
If a person wants to have faith in God and see the reality they must obey/believe the gospel of Jesus Christ.
God became one of use to taste death for all nations.
