The only thing this demonstrates is that people shouldn’t tie unrelated scriptures to one another, out of context, in effort to support their preconceived ideas, like most sermons you hear on Sunday.

It’s not a scientific description. It is relative to the aesthetic intake and understanding of the viewer. Can anyone see God and live? Therefore we cannot handle all truth. God gives us what we are prepared for. One day we will be ready to face Him. But if we are not it will kill us, he is a consuming fire. Only refined gold will survive his presence.

If the Bible is the Inspired Word Of God, we can trust that He knows what His Creation looks like. This is the Earth described throughout Scripture. The Bible is literally true, except when it tells us otherwise. We can believe God’s Word.

I would just tell them it’s mostly figurative language. In the places where it’s not figurative language, I’d point out how they’re misunderstanding. At least two are probably not figurative. Genesis 1:2 is not figurative. But it doesn’t say the earth is laid upon a face; it speaks of the Spirit of God hovering/moving over the face of the water. Genesis 1:6-8 is also not figurative, but they’re misunderstanding it. The most likely explanation is that the expanse (sometimes mistranslated “firmament”, which is why the meme says the earth is covered by a dome) is an expanse of air between the sea and clouds, which explains the “water above and below.” Proverbs 8:27 uses “compass” in the KJV. The KJV has baby words which don’t mean the same today. Compass simply meant circle. Job 26:10 says God “compassed the waters with bounds.” Does the maker of the meme think the oceans are not bounded? The oceans are bounded by the land. In Job 38:13, “ends of the earth” is a figure of speech. Psalm 93:1 is clearly figurative language. 2 verses later it speaks of floods having a voice, and that clearly is not meant to be literal, so why should the first verse be taken as literal? Genesis 1:14-18 is not figurative language per say, but it does use a figure of speech when it says the stars are in the expanse or sky. We do the same thing in everyday language; we say things like “stars in the sky” and “sunrise” or “sunset” even though we know the stars aren’t actually in the sky, and the sun isn’t actually rising/setting.
I think it’s very interesting that they try to hide the watermark in the top left corner. It says “flatearthposters,com” so they clearly already think the earth is flat and are just trying to find bible verses that also support it (and they’re pretty bad at it).

This is what scripture means when it talks about arguing about foolish geneologies. Any person looking through a telescope knows the earth is not flat. These people are either decieved by devil’s or intentionally lying.

Well, the Bible does say the earth is circular. But it also says it has “corners”. A circle cannot have “corners”, unless if you consider a 3-D image.
Now, as for the “dome” reading. That’s a garbage translation. In Hebrew, it says Raqia, which means to “hammer out into a thin sheet”, which is why the wording “expanse” is more often used. To me, that means that God thinned out the elements in the early atmosphere of Earth. It was likely a thicker atmosphere, made up mostly of water particles, which were separated by the “expanse” (troposphere). -
Is the earth being flat vs spherical an important argument that we should expend energy on? There’s so many lost souls, I feel like we already have our work cut out for us.

The flat earth is one big bullcrap idea.. In scientific in every aspect. All the planets are spheres.. You will not find one planet that’s flat..

Looks like a fairly good representation of biblical cosmology and what practically every ancient culture imagined the cosmos to be. They were ancient people without modern science and shouldn’t be expected to understand what us moderns do. Good thing the bible is about theology and not a cosmology textbook otherwise modern apologists might waste their time trying to refute this. Oh wait…….

How do flat-earthers explain time zones, or earth photos from space showing only a portion of the earth, or the thin layer of our atmosphere completely surrounding the planet, or when water droplets float in weightlessness they form spheres, or how Antarctica is a concentrated, contiguous landmass that can’t possibly encircle the so-called earth-disc, or lunar eclipses showing the shadow of the earth as curved, etc.

Times zones are a good one, think about a pizza pie each slice being a time zone. Or a true 24 hour clock. If the sun is over that “section” it would be mid day. Is everyone familiar with the geocentric model?

We do not need to dismiss ALL SCIENCE to honor God. God is behind every scientific law, God is the creator of all that can be weighed and measured.
I understand the fear that “Science” claims that there is no God, but they can never prove that because He is Real. The more we learn, the more we find God to be true.
I know of several astronauts who were atheist and became believers because of the miracle they witnessed from Space, of this small blue jewel, held up in a vast nothingness, by the very hand of God.
Please, Brothers and Sisters, ridiculous notions like the Earth is flat or that every image of Earth from outer space is faked or is CGI just to “deceive” the masses only makes “Christians” look like idiots and gives non-believers one more reason to dismiss Christ.
Accepting the reality that this beautiful planet is a sphere, held in place by laws that God Himself created does not affect our Salvation in the least; Only belief in Christ does. Let’s not throw up even MORE roadblocks to finding HIM and further trip up an already stumbling humanity.

Oooo please please stop. Only ignorant people beleive this. This is the view of Earth from the Dark Ages when there was no science and only superstition. When the Bible wasn’t even allowed to be read or studied.
Just look at the Horizon.. the reason. Why the sky seems to touch the ground or the water its because the Earth has curvature and it is a Sphere flattened on each pole.
The on only reason today we use internet is because there are satelites out there orbiting the Earth… Come On!

Above is the heaven, a heaven of clouds which produces rain water that falls to the earth, oceans, lakes etc. They intern evaporate causing more rain. This is a cycle, not a dome.
