In the last month I’ve seen a lot of articles on Facebook *”disproving”* Noah’s Ark because of the long since known discovery of other, potentially older Ancient Flood Stories (i.e. Gilgamesh, Atrahasis). The criticism being that Noah’s Ark simply stole or borrowed from these older stories (at least in terms of date of writing).

**So I did some research and put together this video explaining a few things:**
1. Even if the writer(s) of Genesis were aware of other flood stories, **they weren’t copying or stealing**. If anything they were potentially using the similarities in the story to make a negative comment on the religions of Babylon and Assyria.
1. The discovery of these other flood stories has helped Christian scholars understand the meaning of Noah’s Ark in a deeper way

*I’ll let you know from the outset – I nor the material in the video makes any comment about any real flood event one way or the other. The focus is just on the literary similarities and defending the Noah’s Ark story from claims of plagiarism. *

**What do you think? What is your approach the stories in Genesis like Noah’s Ark when talking about the faith?**
