    Yes

  2. Aldrich Janelle says:

From the time of the first death there had to be a holding place. One place for the righteous and one place for the unrighteous (Enoch wrote about it) and it is mentioned in various scriptures but usually says “grave”. When Jesus died He went to the place people were being held and preached (Matthew 12:40; 1 Peter 3:19) . Those who believed on Him were freed and for a moment walked the earth as a witness (Matthew 27:52-53) then they went to “paradise” or heaven (Luke 23:43). From that time on, believers go to heaven in paradise and the unbelieving and unrighteous go to Hell. Hell is a Christian term but definitely gets the point across. At the end of the 1000 year reign of Christ on this earth the ones in hell will be judged and sent into their permanent place of torment, the lake of fire (Revelation chapter 20). Shalom

  13. Ian Hartley says:

In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel (For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures 1 Cor:3,4) of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Eph 1:13

  14. Mike Colburn says:

Genesis 2:6–7 (NASB95): 7 Then the Lord God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.”

The formula for a living being: Dust + Breathe of Life = Living Being

If you take either one of these away you don’t have a living being.

Ecclesiastes 12:6–7 (NASB95): 7 then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it.

The word for spirit means breath in the original language.

Ecclesiastes 9:4–5 (NASB95): 5 For the living know they will die; but the dead do not know anything, nor have they any longer a reward, for their memory is forgotten.”

If you look in Rev when Christ comes he will bring His reward. Another small tip that when we die we don’t receive our reward, even a bad reward… HELL. We receive our reward for either worshiping God or worshiping the Devil when Christ comes the second time.

Hell doesn’t exist as a current living place people go. This is a non biblical theology. And this theology was created by the Catholic Church as a way of fearing people into giving funds to the church.

Don’t be deceived… become a student of the Word!

  15. Ken Matey says:

Nope. Unless you mean grave, which is what Sheol/hades means…then yes.

If people are in hell then judgement has had to have taken place. That can’t happen till the end due to rewards based of things done on earth. I think I said that right. Lol.

Has judgement happened for the dead? If not, then no, if yes—then yes. Demons asked Jesus NOT to send them there…Mark 5:12

  22. Ricky Harper says:

    Hell is a holding tank.

  23. W Charles Brown says:

It depends on how you define Hell. Are they in the eternal Lake of Fire which is the final judgment? No. Currently the righteous dead are in Paradise while the unrighteous dead are in Hell (aka Hades, Gehenna or Tartarus). Both are temporary holding areas until they all get their resurrected bodies. The righteous will be resurrected to eternal life while the unrighteous will be resurrected to eternal death.

    Luke 16:19-31

Titus 2:9 that in the N T Sir

  26. Corey Matthew says:

There are people in hades (the temporary place of torment or hell) however no one is the Lake of fire (the permanent/eternal hell, also called the second death). The Antichrist and False Prophet are the first two individuals in scripture to occupy the Lake of Fire.

  27. Trínítí Reyes says:

Yes! Once die next judgement ?

  28. Marek Wawrzyniak says:

Hell is not open for business yet. It will open after the judgement because even all demons and death and Hades will be thrown there – the lake of fire.

  29. Jireh D Hormann says:

Yes, Hell is a temporary holding until the white thrown judgement. Then all are thrown into the Lake of Fire.

  30. Deundrell Asbell says:

A lot of people view hell and the lake of fire as the same but they are different. Hell is simply prison and it will be cast into the lake of fire on judgment day. Think of it as Alcatraz, it is surrounded by shark infested waters making it impossible or nearly impossible to escape from. The lake of fire is the shark infested waters. So is hell open? Yes. To say that hell is closed is to say that paradise is as well.

  31. David Funk says:

I think it all depends on your belief in resurrection and “alive in the spirit”. Was Jesus alive in the spirit before his resurrection according to 1 peter 3? Didn’t he tell the thief today you will be with me in paradise? Seems like Jesus was alive in the spirit the moment he died or the day he died otherwise he would be in paradise. And Romans 6 says if we have been United in a death like his. So our physical death will mirror Christ because we bear him within us and through baptism are in him. So its pretty nonnegotiable paradise is preressurection. If unsaved souls are not alive then do they occupy the body they are in? Possibly but a place called hell seems to spit people out at the end of revelation to be judged. If the first question is yes then this second question begs the question where does he’ll receive these souls? Then those people if not found in the book of life are thrown into another place, the lake of fire.

  32. Jefferson Elder says:

    yes, many are already there.

  33. Mat Innes says:

No they are in Hades, my wife and I are ministers of the gospel and my wife has a real life Experience of death and resurrection. I will say simply believe the truth of the whole bible!

  34. Marlayne Giron says:

    Yes

  35. Mark Hazzard says:

    It is not a parable.

  36. Parker Roberts says:

Well, depends on what you mean by hell. The eternal fire is the final judgement, so no.

  37. Brittney Moxley says:

No, demons and Satan aren’t even in hell right now

  38. Benjamin Hazlett says:

Unbelievers that have past from this life are in hell right now and will be thrown into the lake of fire at the day of judgment. Believers are in lParadise” or “Abraham’s Bosom” until then. Afterwards all believers will live in New Jerusalem with Jehovah Yeshua

  39. Mike M Correal says:

well there is that passage where the guy in hell asks that someone go and warn his brothers about it

  40. Rick Holtsclaw says:

No, Hell will not be relevant until subsequent the Great White Throne Judgment (Judgment of the Condemned) manifesting after the Millennial Reign of Jesus Christ (Revelation 20:11-15). It is at that time that the unredeemed disembodied spirits in Hades-Sheol/Torments (Luke 16) will receive a resurrected body of corruption and stand in the Judgment before Jesus Christ. Their names will not be found written in the Lamb’s Book of Life and they will suffer in Hell commensurate with the deeds done in the body within the Realm of Time then they will die the “second death.” It will be as if they never existed.
