I just starting following this group yesterday and already I am seeing brother come at brother in the very first post I read. If I were not a Christian that would just validate why I don’t want to be one. Someone asked a question about who was saved during an altar call and immediately another member started an argument. That person just asked a question. I think it was an innocent question. No wonder the world doesn’t see Jesus in most of us. Rant over.

Looks like you will use any old excuse to stay a pagon.

Most of us? Wow. Your rant borders on being the very thing you claim to have issues with. Chill out. You just got here. There are plenty of good conversations had in this group.
-
Good rant! ???
-
U know, I joined yesterday and had the exact same thoughts.
It will take some doing for me to convince a friend that is currently “losing his faith” to join this group.
I myself hope to make it week before I leave. -
I agree & I’ve been here for a few days
-
Just because people have different views, that doesn’t mean it’s an argument.
-
I thought the same…UNTIL..I realized that not everyone in this group are Christian’s. There are unbelievers in here as well..so then I had to use discernment…n now I just share n dont engage in arguments. My job is to share…and that’s bout all sister. Be blessed ??

I’m new here also few days ago.. N learn lot of things, there are words they use I don’t know bcos I’m not apologetics yet just learning that’s why I’m busy searching what it mean n begin studying it… both side that is biblical but different views… I found out that this group is mixed up but it’s ok.. Atleast u can learn from each every one. ..

I only joined this group yesterday and the only question so I have asked thus far was met with some consternation. I didn’t expect it.
-
I’m going to say this and leave it.
Yes, I can just keep scrolling. I can also leave the group.
I’m a huge believer in the necessity of apologetics as we MUST contend for our faith.
Trashing each other with snide one liners is exactly what the trolls look for and what will NEVER win over the lost. -
You’re welcome to join me as an atheist. We have support groups for ex-Christians and ex-theists alike. You can share your story with people who actually care for you and will shower you with love and affection. You don’t have to debate anyone in these groups, you can just be you and get loved on.

Ref: above…
Some of the nicest, most decent people I know do not know Jesus as Savior.
Some of the most cruel, crooked, evil hearted people I know profess to know Him.
Me?
I grew up in hell!!
I know INTIMATELY the me that I am statistically supposed to be.
But Jesus saved my life and changed my life.
There is absolutely nothing good and decent ABOUT me that is BY me.
There is no me at all without Him. -
Yeah, it’s a pretty contentious group at times! ?
-
I find that concern for my own sin leaves me very little opportunity to notice the sin of others. But maybe that’s just me.

Proverbs 12.1, 15
Proverbs 9.8Any form of hatred to one another is wrong whether it is 1 or 2 of us, it is not helpful, it is not loving, and we should all be reminded of that.
Some of these responses remind me so much of the sin in man’s heart…
“Eh excuse me, we aren’t all bad I’ll have you know”
If you know of one instance where this has been the case on this page which is being described then it shouldn’t have happened and shouldn’t happen again.
It doesn’t matter whether or not you didn’t do it, or not all have done it.
The issue is that some have and that’s what is trying to be said her.
What is wrong with that?
Is reminding us to be loving to one another a bad thing?!
No!!
If you agree with what the statement says then have your sister in Christ’s back and stop getting at her for speaking truth!
Gosh!
It’s so sad to see this, and she isn’t the only person who has noticed it…
I’ve seen a few people now try and attempt what she is doing and it seems to get the same response every time…
So sad.

I used to say dont judge the religion by the fools that are in it. In this case weak Christian’s push their limited knowledge because of their ignorance and their stupid pride..
-
I agree. The entire point of engaging in dialogue is to convince, defend, and promote the values of Christianity…Disagree politely.
-
It is amusing to watch.
-
I completely agree that we all need to be more loving. It’s so awful to see Christins tearing each other down. That’s the opposite of loving your neighbor before your self.
I’m not saying this applies to anyone in this group, but I thought this was pretty eye opening. -
The devil works by a strategy called divide and conquer. Turning Christians against each other causes people to fall away and our numbers shrink. Just have to put faith in God and not people

OUR Church at least members that can participate have been in a study of the Book of John, the Gospel of John for over a year and finally getting to the 13th Chapter which is the start of Jesus’ private ministry.
There is something that should be an in house debate and not for the public, secondly, apologetics means to defend the Fatih, in defending the faith it must be done in love and with respect to other opinions among ourselves and with others in this case Islam.
The Church does not teach Christain to have such a loving and honest debate. It does not mean the group should necessarily stope raising topics fo forested discussion, but we all must learn to be graceful and understanding while sharing the gospel.
We all must agree and learn how to disagree and not be disagreeable with persons that might have a different point of view.
Jesus says in John the role of the Holy Spirit is to convict and convinced our roles is to present and debate the gospel in love while standing for the truth.
We need man and women how are mature in the gospel to teach us how to loving without compromise to stand on the ruth in love so people get a sense who is sincere can be lead to the truth.
What does it mean to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15 …

Well… This is Christian Apologetics. We are supposed to debate here. But we need to do so respectfully and out of love.
-
It’s got to do with the fact that there’s a lot of non believers in the forum.
-
I left the group over the same arguments!
God has moved through “altar calls” over the years and brought millions of people to Christ through that method!
To say that those salvation experiences were not of God, or not genuine, is borderline blasphemy!
I know scores of people who surrendered their lives to Christ at an altar call and have served Him for years and years following that!
The people who are attacking altar calls and saying they are not “Biblical” are totally misled, and confused.
Just because they are not mentioned in the Bible does not mean that God didn’t ordain it.
If a person hears a message from a Godly preacher on TV or radio and surrenders his life to Christ, does that mean it’s not of God, or not Biblical?
TV or radio is not mentioned in the Bible.
This entire conversation turned me off, and I don’t need this contention in my life right now.
Whatever means God chooses to use to bring a person to Himself, whether it is through a conversation with a Christian, through a preacher on radio or TV, or at an altar call at a church service, it is Godly, scriptural, and ordained by God!!!! -
Weak Christians don’t argue
-
the apologetic rapping Christian can debate
-
Really? Don’t mean to be dramatic, but you judge us cause were like a lot of other people,? Look at Peter, Thomas and stop being such a nanny..jeez ?
-
Yes I know – it’s sickening ?
-
I agree with you!
-
I agree and couldn’t have said it better. I’ll admit, “Christians” were a large contribution to what made me turn away from God when I was younger.
-
-
I see this over and over and I agree with you! Christians can be so unloving! Let’s do better!
-
Thank you! I have been observing this discouraging trend in this group and I am only a member for a few hours :/ I think the name of this groups highly misleading.
-
Really? Are you going to recruit non believers? Atheists, agnostics to debate. Hope so..cause if not..it will just be another group of like minded believers…not defendors of the faith
-
“If I were not a Christian that would just validate why I don’t want to be one”. Those who are not Christians do not want to be Christians for they are at enmity with God. This is what the scriptures teach, Stephanie – that man suppresses the truth in unrighteousness. The idea that men do not want to be Christians because they see others they believe to be Christians disagreeing is completely unbiblical.
-
I will not change what the Bible tells me for the hurt feelings of anyone.
