Remember that WE (those who have faith in and follow Jesus) are the church. Our bodies are the Temple of God. So Christ is the head of this “church” – True believers, those who have Faith in Jesus and believe the Whole word of God (the Bible).

So, doctrine is essential, it doesn’t change, while all other differences are merely theological.

Groups of religion are man made, because not all men want to follow the word of God. Jesus gives us His perfect example throughout scripture of how we are to worship, baptize, speak and pray to The Father. We separated ourselves.

I believe you answered your own question with your question. To have the title “Christian” which means little Christ, claims Christ as the head of YOU. Christianity is very individualistic. Salvation is on you. As a Christian, Christ should be Your head. He cares not for buildings but the souls within them.

It’s getting late in the game and we NEVER quite acknowledge or identify the false prophets, and the MANY, Christ told us will be led astray.
Why?
Simply because people don’t put ANY stock into what Christ says.
On that day MANY will say Lord Lord! Did Not We Do This or That in your name!?
Who would these people BE? It’s not going to be Muslims or Atheists, they KNOOOOOW they never did anything in Christ name. Right!?
Those are people who don’t pay attention to GOD right now. People following some erroneous man or men over the century. They either don’t take the time to CAREFULLY see what Christ said… Or they see it and the run off trying to refute what Christ said with other scripture or in other books with that ignorance in them. Or they just take someone’s word for what Christ says.

In the bible Church is ALWAYS a reference to people, not a place. The church is a body of believers that LIVE out the gospel in their words and actions..BY THEIR FRUITS U SHALL KNOW THEM…THE CHURCH IS AT ITS BEST WHEN PEOPLE INSIDE THE BUILDING TAKE JESUS’ MESSAGE OUTSIDE THE BUILDING TO THE LOST AND DYING AND SERVE THOSE THEY MEET. Once PEOPLE LEAVE THE” MEMEBERSHIP” per say..
