SUNDAY IS THE LORD’s DAY and here’s why:
1. Christ resurrected on the FIRST DAY. Matthew 28, Luke 24, Mark 16, John 20
2. Pentecost happened. Acts 2
3. Gathering and Breaking of bread, collection of “help” happened on the first day. Acts 20:7; 1 Corinthians 16:2
***it’s a SPECIAL day to celebrate our Salvation by Faith alone, by Grace alone, in CHRIST alone.
Our sabbath is in Christ..
I believe Jesus is the Sabbath….I rest in him
Everyday is the Lord’s day.
The apostles and believers in the first century, though, did not get that memo since they kept sabbath (7th day) for over 40 years – and on assumedly – after Jesus ascended. Lol. Also, many of those “first day of the week” translations are horrible (ie Acts 20:7)
Sunday is to be different than the rest, dedicated to worship and as such it should a day of delight as the people of God come together with the common purpose of corporate worship.
