Good grief…about Ezekiel 18, you DO realize that “Nefesh “ has a rather wide semantic range, and can also mean “person?”

In fact wouldn’t ya say THAT’S what the context of Ezekiel 18 is? The sinner dies, not their kids?

There is a difference between eternal life and eternal suffering. Clearly, you must exist in some form to suffer. That is the second death.

Revelation 21:8 explains the second death in the most detail: “The cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars – their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”

There is another description of the lake of fire in Revelations 14:

9… “If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, 10he also will drink the wine of God’s wrath, poured full strength into the cup of his anger, and he will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. 11And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever, and they have no rest, day or night, these worshipers of the beast and its image, and whoever receives the mark of its name.”

What do you think God breathed into the nostrils of man? God Himself breathed the breath of life …. and where from does all life …. come from, but God Himself? Therefore, since God is literally the Giver of Life …. to all things …. in Heaven and the earth …. God is God, Holy Above all, to be honored and reverently feared …. with great and dedicated love …. unto He Who existed before all things. And who is there …. so arrogant …. to stand against (be anti-) Him …. and not – in His due time – suffer the consequences. Therefore, before He Who is Holy …. a Book is kept …. and all those who accept His Holy Way …. are written in God’s Holy Book …. but those who do not, …. wherein do they stand, and that which is un-Holy, where does God put such? God knows, God always knows. BE IN Jesus 24/7=4GIVEN=4EVER.

And yet it does die forever in Hell an eternal death. You notice the Bible says it both ways, that means there is a deeper truth we are forgetting. As unbelievers the Bible says we are dead in trespasses and sin. Yet there we are walking arroynd but we are not you might object but Scriprkture tells you are wong. then to Nicodemous Jesus said you must be born again But he asked amazed. That spiritual rebirth has to happen fojr him. We can’t be simpletons in this whole concepts of life and death

  6. Andy Gray says:

Yeah. No where does it say people (or souls, or nephesh) are immortal. In fact the Bible authors seem to go to great lengths to explain how we are mortal and will die and are under the curse of death. And that only through Christ can we have eternal life and immortality.

  9. Francois Ebreo French says:

    Matthew 10:28
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell./
This is what death in the bible means, eternal punishment in hell..

  11. Manfred Boensch says:

    Your soul = your mind/thoughts/being.
    Your flesh = flesh
Your spirit = redemption if you are in Christ.

You were saved = Spiritual salvation.
You are being saved = sanctification of your mind/thoughts/being.
You will be saved = the redemption of our bodies. Receipt of a glorified body and we will meet Him in the air, Spirit soul body reunited, and be with Him for ever.

As for the unredeemed, the spirit, body and soul are not saved and cannot enter the light of God.
The word does tell us that all the dead will be raised (immortal). All will receive an immortal glorified body.

The unredeemed will be cast into utter darkness in their unredeemed state with an immortal body, separated from God for eternity.

(Note, I did not put all the Scripture referances in this post. I am happy to point anyone that may have questions toward the scriptures as per my post above)

The verse in the meme is not talking about annihilation. It’s talking about physical death.

  13. Ian Jacob Fridge says:

The soul is not eternal by nature. This was woven into orthodoxy by Greek believers like Tertullian and Augustine. Scripture does not support the notion that eternal life refers to the location and experience of an already eternal being. It supports eternal life itself being the reward for belief in, and following, Christ.

This line of thinking is flawed.
    Since it is wrong.
Since it was not well thought out.
    Thus, it is flawed.

  18. St-Leger Shadrack says:

The righteous get eternal life, and the wicked get eternal….?
The equation is breath of God and body of dirt = living soul. So soul is a person not a ghost.
